San Francisco 49ers RB Jeff Wilson Jr. signed a one-year contract Tuesday, Jan. 26, but financial terms weren't disclosed.
Footballguys view: He was scheduled to be a restricted free agent at the end of the league year. Instead, Wilson is staying with the 49ers where he can be a valuable reserve player they can trust as a spot starter. |

Free-agent WR Keelan Doss signed a Reserve/Future contract with the Las Vegas Raiders on Tuesday, Jan. 26.

Footballguys view: Gentry was a favorite target of QB Josh Allen in college at the University of Wyoming. He's a try-hard slot receiver who has bounced around the league. Let's see if working with Allen again can help him stick on a roster. |

Free-agent WRs Reggie Begelton and Juwann Winfree, C Jake Hanson, PK JJ Molson, CB KeiVarae Russell and DL Delontae Scott signed Reserve/Future contracts with the Green Bay Packers on Tuesday, Jan. 26.
Footballguys view: Winfree was an intriguing late-round prospect when the Broncos drafted him a couple of years ago. He needs to stay healthy (that was a problem for him in Denver) but we'll continue to monitor him in super deep dynasty formats. |

University of Maryland defensive coordinator Jon Hoke is reportedly expected to be named as the new defensive backs coach for the Atlanta Falcons soon, according to sources. The Falcons are also expected to hire former Chicago Bears assistant Ted Monachino as outside linebackers coach.

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is almost certain to remain with the team in 2021, according to comments made by team president and chief executive officer Mark Murphy on Tuesday, Jan. 26.'I'll say this: There's no way in heck that Aaron is not going to be on the Packers. I mean, he is going to be the MVP of the league, might have had his best year ever. He's our unquestioned leader and, you know, we're not idiots,' Murphy told WNFL Radio.
Footballguys view: Things seem cold right now between Rodgers and the Packers, but that might not really be the case. Rodgers kind of softened some of his comments in a recent interview with Pat Mcafee. He's too important to that team and those fans, so we have a feeling things will stay in place. Let's see if the future changes that. |

San Francisco 49ers QB Nick Mullens - an impending free agent - underwent elbow surgery in late December of 2020, and the damage was not as extensive as initially feared. As a result, he was able to avoid Tommy John surgery and is expected to be fully recovered by the start of training camp, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Footballguys view: Mullens might have lost some money in the 2020 season. He was once again thrust into action as a starter this past season but did not look good. Mullens might not be more than a below-average backup. |

San Francisco 49ers DL Javon Kinlaw recently underwent a routine 'cleanup' procedure on his right knee - the same knee that caused him to miss the final two games of the 2020 season. Per a team spokesman, the injury is not related to the tendinitis Kinlaw dealt with in college, and he is expected to be a participant during the team's offseason program.

Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff is not guaranteed a roster spot for the 2021 season, according to comments made by general manager Les Snead on Tuesday, Jan. 26. Snead reportedly declined to provide a yes/no answer when he was 'asked repeatedly that there's a scenario' where Goff wouldn't be on the roster and referenced a recent quote from Aaron Rodgers about the future being 'a beautiful mystery,' according to ESPN's Lindsey Thiry.
Footballguys view: It would be tough to get rid of Goff due to the salary cap, but where there's a will there's a way. Things seem shaky right now for Goff and the Rams, but that could all clear up by the time free agency starts. |

Kansas City Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins (calf) is expected to be ready to play in Super Bowl LV, according to sources.
Footballguys view: Whether or not Watkins plays is pretty much irrelevant for the Chiefs offense. They are explosive with him on the field, and they have no problem making plays when he misses time...and he misses quite a bit of time. |

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Antonio Brown (knee) is expected to be ready to play in Super Bowl LV, according to sources.
Footballguys view: Brown had to miss the NFC Championship Game and now with more time to get healthy we should see him in the big game. That means Scotty Miller or Tyler Johnson might get fewer snaps in the Super Bowl. |

Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love would not be the front runner to be the starting quarterback if QB Aaron Rodgers left, in the opinion of beat writer Rob Demovsky. Love struggled with accuracy in practice all season, and quarterback Tim Boyle would be more suited to open the season as starter.
Footballguys view: Boyle was the backup to Aaron Rodgers for the 2020 season. Love was a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft out of Utah State, but he was obviously raw last year at the Senior Bowl and needs more time to develop. Rogers said in an interview "I don't think that there's any reason I wouldn't be back." Stay tuned. |

Free-agent WR Martavis Bryant (Raiders) signed with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League Monday, Jan. 25.
Footballguys view: Bryant has not played since 2018 as the NFL has indefinitely suspended him. He applied for reinstatement in 2019 but now finds himself making a trip up North to keep playing. Perhaps if he performs well in Canada then he could get back to the NFL. It's more likely that his playing days in the NFL are done. |

Chicago Bears impending free-agent RB/WR Cordarrelle Patterson is likely a player the Bears will look to re-sign this offseason.
Footballguys view: Patterson's new deal won't break the bank. He has versatility on offense and can contribute on special teams. The former first-round pick has never played up to his draft status, but it seems like he's become a solid player for the Bears. |

Detroit Lions impending free-agent WR Marvin Jones could be an option for the Tennessee Titans if the Titans decide not to re-sign impending free-agent WR Corey Davis this offseason, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Turron Davenport.
Footballguys view: Davis could move on in free agency, leaving a hole in the WR corps opposite of A.J. Brown. Jones will be looking for a fresh start, and going to Tennessee would make a lot of sense. As in most cases, it will all come down to money and what kind of contract Jones demands on the open market. |

Washington Football Team QB Kyle Allen (ankle) is no longer wearing a walking boot on his surgically repaired ankle.

Free-agent WR Jake Kumerow, RB Antonio Williams and WR Tanner Gentry signed Reserve/Future contracts with the Buffalo Bills Monday, Jan. 25, according to sources. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Gentry was Josh Allen's favorite target in college at the University of Wyoming. He's bounced around the league a bit during his short time in the pros. Perhaps reuniting with Allen will help him stick on a roster. |

Baltimore Ravens restricted free-agent LB Chris Board may be a candidate for a multi-year contract extension this offseason because a tender offer may be too expensive for the team.
Link to storyChris Board player page

Baltimore Ravens restricted free-agent RB Gus Edwards likely will receive a tender offer this offseason, but the team may need to use the first-round or second-round tender offer on Edwards.
Footballguys view: We'll see how much they want to keep Edwards around as a rotational player with J.K. Dobbins. The team would not receive any compensation if they used the original-round tender because Edwards was an undrafted free agent. |

Florida QB Kyle Trask (ankle) will not participate in the Senior Bowl because of an ankle injury.
Footballguys view: Trask is a pocket passer with confidence and accuracy. He's seen as a mid-round pick in the 2021 NFL draft but with a good performance at the Senior Bowl he could've snuck into the second round. |

Green Bay Packers impending free-agent C Corey Linsley said he has not had any contract talks with the Packers at this point.

Baltimore Ravens QB Tyler Huntley and Trace McSorley may compete for the No. 2 quarterback job during training camp, according to general manager Eric DeCosta. DeCosta did not rule out the possibility of signing a veteran quarterback at some point.
Footballguys view: Huntley was thrust into action in the playoffs when Lamar Jackson was hurt and showed the game is not too big for him. Both quarterbacks are mobile and can damage a defense with their legs. We'll see how that competition shakes out in training camp next season. |
Trace McSorley player page

Baltimore Ravens TE Mark Andrews is one of the players the team will try to sign to a contract extension, according to general manager Eric DeCosta.
Footballguys view: That sounds about right. Andrews, a third-round pick out of Oklahoma in the 2018 NFL draft, is not only a favorite target of QB Lamar Jackson but he's one of the best tight ends in the game. Heading into a contract year in 2021, Andrews could get paid sooner rather than later in a move that would ultimately save the Ravens money so long as Andrews continues to play at a high level. |
