Titans | A.J. Brown focused on better conditioning Tue Aug 11, 03:51 PM
Tennessee Titans WR A.J. Brown told Jim Wyatt of the team's website that he noticed he looked fatigued in the fourth quarter of games in 2019 and has spent the offseason making sure to avoid a similar fate.'I have to be able to go through the entire game and make my routes look the same. I have to be well-conditioned. ... Looking back at some film, I left some plays out there because I was a little tired. I want to be all-around complete. ... I am definitely in a better place (physically), and I'm in a better shape mentally as well,' Brown said.
|Footballguys view: Brown exploded onto the scene last year as a rookie, averaging a whopping 20.2 yards per catch. However, Brown's lowest YPC total per quarter came in the fourth quarter (14.8). We'll see if this new emphasis on better conditioning helps those numbers late in games this season. The Titans are a run-heavy offense but Brown should work his way into the top-15 for fantasy receivers.|

Broncos | Phillip Lindsay stronger in 2020 Tue Aug 11, 02:11 PM
Denver Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay recently told Mike Klis of 9News that he gained 10 pounds of muscle this offseason.'Feel good, feel fast. That wrist injury (last year) really did a toll on me when it came to working out. ... So I feel really good, I feel explosive and I feel like I'm going to have a (heck of a) season this year,' Lindsay said.
|Footballguys view: Lindsay has added muscle to his frame in order to keep up with the pounding he's taken in two years as the starter for the Broncos. Each of the last two offseasons, Lindsay has spent time rehabbing from a wrist surgery. This year, Lindsay should serve as the backup to Melvin Gordon...although he's likely to get a larger split than most backup running backs out there. The Broncos passing game has a lot of appeal to Fantasy GMs but do not sleep on this Gordon/Lindsay combination which should lead the way offensively.|

Dolphins | Matt Breida pegged for 35 percent Tue Aug 11, 12:02 PM
Miami Dolphins RB Matt Breida is expected to receive 35 percent of the touches in the backfield, according to beat writer Cameron Wolfe.
|Footballguys view: That sounds about right. Breida is going to be the change-of-pace back to starter Jordan Howard in 2020. The Dolphins should be running the ball early and often as they groom rookie QB Tua Tagovailoa (who should be starting over Ryan Fitzpatrick soon enough).|

Dolphins | Jordan Howard expected to lead Tue Aug 11, 12:01 PM
Miami Dolphins RB Jordan Howard is expected to carry the rushing load in 2020, in the opinion of beat writer Cameron Wolfe. Wolfe expects Howard to receive 50 percent of the backfield touches.
|Footballguys view: Howard is going to be the banger on the roster. He'll soften up defenses on the whole was a battering ram between the tackles. When it comes to catching the rock out of the backfield, Matt Breida will be the back the Dolphins turn to.|

Jaguars | Yannick Ngakoue in contact Tue Aug 11, 10:32 AM
Jacksonville Jaguars DE Yannick Ngakoue has been in contact with general manager David Caldwell, but it's unknown whether he'll report to camp.
|Footballguys view: NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports Ngakoue has parted ways with his agent. There has been buzz that Ngakoue would be willing to play on his franchise tag elsewhere. He has not signed his tag for the Jaguars and is a no-show for camp.|

Colts | Indy finale for T.Y. Hilton? Mon Aug 10, 10:54 PM
Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton is entering the final season of a five-year, $65 million contract. 'If this is my last year (in Indianapolis), I will give it all I've got,' Hilton said recently in an interview with an Indianapolis TV station.
|Footballguys view: The offense goes through Hilton, or at least the passing game does. He's in line for a productive season and should quickly become QB Philip Rivers favorite target. That means good things for Fantasy GMs who invest in Hilton...and Hilton as he's investing in himself. A big season could mean another big-money deal for the veteran who will turn 31-years old this year.|

Bengals | A.J. Green focused on health Mon Aug 10, 10:42 PM
Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green has dedicated much of his offseason training to injury avoidance, including working with a former acquaintance, Reza Hesam, who co-founded Adapt Physical Therapy, which focuses on injury prevention in addition to working on performance.
|Footballguys view: Green is playing on the one-year franchise tag for the Bengals. He wants to stay with the team and wants to continue with them for another four years. In order to do that, Green needs to stay healthy and play at a high level. That's his usual level so long as he's at or near full strength.|

Raiders | Derek Carr primed for best season? Mon Aug 10, 10:23 PM
Las Vegas Raiders QB Derek Carr is poised to have the best season of his career as he'll be playing with the best supporting cast of his career, including RB Josh Jacobs, TE Darren Waller and rookie WR Henry Ruggs III, in the opinion of NFl.com analyst Adam Rank.
|Footballguys view: Carr may be poised to do that but first he must win the starting job. The Raiders went out and added QB Marcus Mariota to the roster this offsason. Carr and Mariota will compete for the starting job in training camp. Both will have those great weapons around to throw to, although Carr is likely the frontrunner due to his experience with the team as the starter.|

49ers | George Kittle not making progress in talks Mon Aug 10, 09:31 PM
San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle has not made much progress in contract extension talks with the 49ers at this point, according to his agent.
|Footballguys view: Kittle is in the final year of his rookie contract but he's not going anywhere. We're expecting him to reset the tight end market when a new contract is done.|

Dolphins | Chester Rogers may be slot receiver Mon Aug 10, 08:28 PM
Miami Dolphins WR Chester Rogers is considered the leading candidate for the slot receiver job but will have to compete with at least WR Isaiah Ford and WR Gary Jennings for the job.
|Footballguys view: Rogers has experience at the position and is a good option at the slot when healthy. Do not forget about Jakeem Grant in this competition either as he might be the best of the bunch behind DeVante Parker and Preston Williams.|

Patriots | Sony Michel not guaranteed for Week 1 Mon Aug 10, 07:56 PM
New England Patriots RB Sony Michel's (foot) status for the start of the regular season is uncertain at this point.
|Footballguys view: This is one of the reasons why the Patriots signed veteran free agent RB Lamar Miller on Monday. Michel is still recovering from foot surgery and is currently on the PUP list. If he doesn't show enough progress, the team could put him on PUP to begin the regular season.|

Patriots | Lamar Miller agrees to deal with Pats Mon Aug 10, 05:45 PM
Free-agent RB Lamar Miller (Texans) agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the New England Patriots Monday, Aug. 10. Financial terms were not disclosed.
|Footballguys view: The Damien Harris hype train is going to lose a few people upon this news. Miller didn't play in 2019 as he tore his ACL and MCL a year ago. The Patriots are getting quality veteran experience with this move and insurance in the event that Sony Michel struggles with injury. Michel is currently on the PUP list as he continues to recover from offseason foot surgery.|

Dolphins | Miami adding Nate Wieting Mon Aug 10, 04:43 PM
Former Cleveland Browns TE Nate Wieting was claimed off waivers by the Miami Dolphins Monday, Aug. 10, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: Wieting was picked up as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa in 2020. He's not like other Iowa TEs in the league like George Kittle, T.J. Hockenson or Noah Fant. In four seasons with the Hawkeyes, Wieting went from walk on to starter but only caught 13 total passes in his career. He was often banged up in college, having surgeries on his shoulder, knee and foot. He'll be a long-shot for the Dolphins roster and may just be looking to impress enough to stay around on the practice squad.|
NFL | Logan Ryan sees himself as safety Mon Aug 10, 04:07 PM
Free-agent CB Logan Ryan (Titans) is letting teams know that he considers himself a safety and not a cornerback like he has been listed.
|Footballguys view: Ryan was a playmaker from the slot last year for the Titans but has not yet found a home in free agency. He's a hybrid player who can line up at both corner and safety. Reports have indicated earlier this offseason that Ryan wants more than $10 million per season.|

Saints | Alvin Kamara opens up about knee injury Mon Aug 10, 03:57 PM
New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara told reporters Monday, Aug. 10, that he 'tore his knee' in Week 6 against the Jacksonville Jaguars and 'was dealing with it the whole season.' He also added that it did not require surgery, but he spent a lot of time in the offseason rehabbing it.
|Footballguys view: Kamara didn't look like himself in 2019 while playing around 75 percent healthy (at best). If fully healthy, Kamara should produce at the expected level and score more touchdowns compared to last year when he only hit pay dirt six times. His skill set and health status make Kamara a top-4 pick for Fantasy GMs no matter the format.|

Raiders | Hunter Renfrow losing primary slot duties? Mon Aug 10, 02:22 PM
Adding more context to a previous report, Las Vegas Raiders WR Henry Ruggs III is expected to begin his pro career as the primary slot receiver ahead of Hunter Renfrow, according to comments made by offensive coordinator Greg Olson.'We'll start with Ruggs III in the slot and do some things with Ruggs. But those guys (Ruggs and Bryan Edwards) are very multiple in what they can do and that's the goal is to be able to move all of them around to different spots; the one, two or three position at the wide receiver,' Olson said recently.
|Footballguys view: Ruggs has a ton of speed and was the team's first-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft. He can operate from the slot or on the outside. The team might want to have him begin in the slot where he can get off the line cleanly and quickly. While Ruggs is playing the slot, it does take Renfrow out of that spot. As a rookie in 2019, Renfrow was targeted 71 times, catching 49 passes for 605 yards and four touchdowns.|

Chiefs | Alex Okafor agrees to restructured deal Mon Aug 10, 02:01 PM
Kansas City Chiefs DE Alex Okafor recently agreed to a restructured contract that lowers the $7.9 million he was due in 2020 to a maximum of $4.96 million this season. He will also reportedly receive $860,000 in per-game roster bonuses and another $2 million in incentives.
|Footballguys view: Okafor, who initially agreed to a contract that ran through the end of 2021, will also be allowed to hit the open market as a free agent at the end of the season as well. He will continue to play as a reserve player on the defensive line for the Chiefs in 2020.|

Bengals | Joe Mixon poised for great things in 2020? Mon Aug 10, 01:48 PM
Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon 'could be as well-positioned as Christian McCaffrey was a year ago to explode,' according to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora. According to La Canfora, head coach Zac Taylor 'truly began to understand and appreciate' Mixon's ability over the second half of last season and intends to lean on him heavily in 2020.
|Footballguys view: The Bengals offense projects to be more exciting with rookie no.1 overall pick QB Joe Burrow at the helm. Burrow is a great passer but expect the team to run the ball with Mixon early and often to take the pressure off the rookie. Mixon has been a top-12 fantasy running back each of the last two seasons, and that will once again be the case. He's a late first- or early second-round pick in fantasy drafts right now.|

Patriots | New England taking a look at two free agents Mon Aug 10, 01:22 PM
Free-agent TE Jordan Leggett (Buccaneers) and DT Darius Kilgo (Lions) are visiting with the New England Patriots on Monday, Aug. 10. If all goes well with the COVID-19 testing and physicals, then the expectation is the Patriots will sign both, according to sources via NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
|Footballguys view: The Patriots have a pair of talented rookies at the tight end position (Devin Asiasi, Dalton Keene) but they may want more experience in the room. Leggett has always had potential as a pro player but he's far from played up to said potential.|
Jordan Leggett player page
Colts | T.Y. Hilton feeling better Mon Aug 10, 01:14 PM
Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton (hamstring) is reportedly feeling good and believes he has 'maybe a couple more days' before he is ready to practice, although the team's training staff may hold him back for a week just to be on the safe side.
|Footballguys view: Hilton is looking to stay healthy and show off with his new QB Philip Rivers. As the Colts top option, Hilton could outperform his current ADP of WR24 (5.09) in 12-team PPR leagues.|

Bengals | A.J. Green impressing Mon Aug 10, 11:41 AM
Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green impressed teammates with his athleticism last week. 'We're just running routes and haven't gone full speed against the defense,' said tight end C.J. Uzomah, who had to laugh at sophomore tight end Drew Sample's reaction when they ran routes. 'Drew only saw him last year for, what, that first practice? He said, 'I forgot how explosive he is.' I told him, 'You haven't seen the half of it yet.''
|Footballguys view: We're keeping our fingers crossed that Green can look like his old self. Green is playing on the one-year franchise tag but wants to stay with the Bengals with one more contract. Playing like he used to would be a boost for the offense, and Green should become a favorite target of rookie QB Joe Burrow.|

Packers | Allen Lazard the favorite for WR2 Mon Aug 10, 10:05 AM
Green Bay Packers WR Allen Lazard is the overwhelming favorite to start opposite of WR Davante Adams. Lazard was second on the team with 13 receptions on third down last year.
|Footballguys view: Lazard is big and can outmuscle smaller defenders for the ball. He's set to get a large amount of passes thrown his way as the no.2 receiver catching the rock from Aaron Rodgers. Lazard has a current ADP of WR58 (13.11) in 12-team PPR leagues.|
Football Team | Bryce Love one to watch Mon Aug 10, 09:14 AM
Washington Football Team RB Bryce Love (knee) is looking and feeling well, and he could be a surprise in the backfield, according to sources.
|Footballguys view: Love followed up Christian McCaffrey at Stanford and was a fantastic college running back when healthy. A knee injury caused his production to decline and that injury lingered into his first pro season in 2019. Last year served as a redshirt season for Love. Even though they picked him up in the fourth round, Washington wanted to get Love back to full strength. Now, it seems like he's there and has the playmaking ability to be a difference maker in the NFL. Love will compete with guys like Adrian Peterson and Antonio Gibson for playing time in 2020.|

NFL | Derrius Guice finds no takers Sun Aug 9, 07:18 PM
Free-agent RB Derrius Guice (Football Team) passed through waivers unclaimed Sunday, Aug. 9.

Vikings | Tyler Higby cut Sun Aug 9, 05:36 PM
Minnesota Vikings OG Tyler Higby was waived Sunday, Aug. 9.
|Footballguys view: No not that Tyler Higbee. Shame on anyone who tries to use this item to get a leaguemate to drop Tyler Higbee, the Rams tight end.|
49ers | Jordan Reed officially part of SF Sun Aug 9, 04:39 PM
Free-agent TE Jordan Reed (Football Team) officially signed a one-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers Sunday, Aug. 9. Financial terms were not disclosed.
|Footballguys view: Don't let this change your view of George Kittle. Reed could help patch up the injuries and inexperience at slot receiver as much as he could force his way into two tight end sets and take a few targets away from Kittle.|
Jordan Reed player page
Eagles | Jatavis Brown on retired list Sun Aug 9, 04:18 PM
Philadelphia Eagles LB Jatavis Brown was placed on the Reserve/Retired list Sunday, Aug. 9.
|Footballguys view: There was some hope that Jim Schwartz could revive Brown's career after he mysteriously fizzled out with the Chargers following an auspicious start to his career. The Eagles are very thin at linebacker and might be looking to make a move at the position.|

Patriots | New England acquires Michael Jackson Sun Aug 9, 04:14 PM
Detroit Lions CB Michael Jackson was acquired by the New England Patriots Sunday, Aug. 9, in exchange for an undisclosed 2022 draft choice.
|Footballguys view: Jackson is a long corner with speed who will fit in the Patriots defense if he can make the team. He was going to be released as the Lions cut down to 80 players, but Bill Belichick thought he was worth trading for.|
Bengals | Mike Daniels expected to join Bengals Sun Aug 9, 03:23 PM
Free-agent DT Mike Daniels (Lions) is meeting with the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday, Aug. 9, and is expected to sign with the team, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: Daniels could provide some rotational snaps behind Geno Atkins and DJ Reader, but his profile has fallen greatly since the Packers released him at the open of camp last year and he then failed to make an impact for the Lions.|

Rams | A'Shawn Robinson expected to play in 2020 Sun Aug 9, 02:48 PM
Los Angeles Rams DT A'Shawn Robinson (undisclosed) is expected to play at some point during the 2020 season, but the team will take things slow with him since he was diagnosed with a medical issue during the medical on-boarding process.
|Footballguys view: Robinson was signed to help the run defense and provide toughness at nose tackle and defensive end. It sounds like he'll miss regular season games as a precaution, which will get Sebastian Joseph-Day and Greg Gaines on the field more. Ezekiel Elliott's Week 1 matchup just got better.|
A'Shawn Robinson player page
Bills | Duke Williams off COVID list Sun Aug 9, 02:47 PM
Buffalo Bills WR Duke Williams was activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list Sunday, Aug. 9. The team also released CB Akeem King.
|Footballguys view: King was possibly in the mix for the last roster spot at corner after EJ Gaines opted out, but the team didn't see anything worth keeping in his very short stint with the team. Williams is a solid blocking wide receiver and had his moments last year, but could be on the outside looking in after the Bills drafted two wide receivers and traded for Stefon Diggs this offseason.|
Football Team | Logan Thomas ready to practice Sun Aug 9, 02:24 PM
Washington Football Team TE Logan Thomas was activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list Sunday, Aug. 9.
|Footballguys view: Thomas has a chance to lead the Washington tight ends in receptions. The former quarterback has flashed excellent hands and athleticism in a small sample with the Lions. Leading the Washington tight end group is still probably not a path to fantasy relevance, but Thomas is worth monitoring in deep tight end premium leagues.|

Eagles | Nathan Gerry off COVID list Sun Aug 9, 01:04 PM
Philadelphia Eagles LB Nathan Gerry was activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list Sunday, Aug. 9.
|Footballguys view: Gerry has a chance to be an everydown linebacker for the Eagles and should be on your IDP sleeper list.|
Falcons | Darqueze Dennard to compete for starting role Sun Aug 9, 11:38 AM
Atlanta Falcons CB Darqueze Dennard will compete for a starting position in the team's secondary at left cornerback and could be used in nickel packages if CB Kendall Sheffield is moved outside, according to head coach Dan Quinn.
|Footballguys view: The Falcons let Desmond Trufant go in the offseason and will be playing some inexperienced players at cornerback this year. Dennard is basically the elder statesman of the group and should fit in at least in subpackages.|

Football Team | Reuben Foster removed from PUP list Sun Aug 9, 10:00 AM
Washington Football Team LB Reuben Foster (knee) was removed from the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list Sunday, Aug. 9.

Reuben Foster player page
Lions | Detroit waives five players Sun Aug 9, 09:33 AM
The Detroit Lions waived WR Chris Lacy, OG Josh Garnett, LB Christian Sam, DE Jonathan Wynn and DB Michael Jackson Sunday, Aug. 9.
|Footballguys view: Garnett was once a first round pick for the Chip Kelly 49ers. Lacy has length and had hung around the Lions roster a few times in the last two years, so he could surface again elsewhere.|

Dolphins | Chester Rogers signed Sun Aug 9, 09:31 AM
The Miami Dolphins signed free-agent WR Chester Rogers (Colts) to a one-year contract Sunday, Oct. 9. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
|Footballguys view: Rogers, Isaiah Ford, and Jakeem Grant will compete to be the #3 receiver behind DeVante Parker and Preston Williams. Williams isn't a sure thing to be ready for Week 1, so there's an outside chance that Rogers starts Week 1. He can also help on special teams. The Dolphins needed camp bodies who can contribute after Allen Hurns and Albert Wilson opted out.|

Bengals | A.J. Green working to avoid injuries Sat Aug 8, 11:06 PM
Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green said his training regiment is designed to help him avoid the injuries he has dealt with the last couple of seasons. 'We did more stuff in testing those ankles, strengthen those ankles, strengthen these toes, learning how to land better,' Green said. 'Just little things like that I didn't do in previous years.'
|Footballguys view: Green has missed some or all of the season due to leg/foot injuries three of the last four years, but he has still been an elite fantasy option when he is on the field. His ADP isn't that different than it was at this time last year, when we already knew that he was injured and going to miss some regular season time.|

Vikings | Cameron Smith to miss 2020 season Sat Aug 8, 08:26 PM
Minnesota Vikings LB Cameron Smith (heart) said he needs to undergo open heart surgery to repair a defect and will miss the 2020 season.
|Footballguys view: Smith's heart defect was found in testing that was protocol after he tested positive for coronavirus, so this was a good break for Smith. We hope to see him on the field again in 2021.|
Giants | Ross Cockrell expected to join Giants Sat Aug 8, 07:40 PM
Free-agent CB Ross Cockrell (Panthers) is expected to sign with the New York Giants as long as he tests negative for COVID-19, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: The Giants are planning on being without DeAndre Baker and Cockrell was one of the best remaining free agents left at corner. He has played with the Giants before and even opposite new #1 Giants corner James Bradberry when both were with the Panthers.|

Lions | Travis Fulgham let go Sat Aug 8, 06:02 PM
Detroit Lions WR Travis Fulgham was released Saturday, Aug. 8.
|Footballguys view: Fulgham was trying to work his way up the depth chart with uncertainty at outside receiver in the future. He spent time on the roster last year and his size and contested catch skills could get him into another camp or onto a practice squad in the future.|
Travis Fulgham player page
Lions | T.J. Hockenson back on roster Sat Aug 8, 05:17 PM
Detroit Lions TE T.J. Hockenson was activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday, Aug. 8.
|Footballguys view: Hockenson had some big-time flashes last year as a rookie. He's got the talent to be one of the best tight ends in the league, but Hockenson needs to stay healhty and gel further with QB Matthew Stafford. Hockenson played in 12 games last year before an ankle injury ended his first pro season. In mid-June, Hockenson was back to running routes but was not 100 percent healthy. We'll know more about his status as camp rolls on. Hockenson has breakout potential in 2020 with a current ADP of TE14 (13.03) in 12-team PPR leagues.|

Browns | Jarvis Landry ready to return Sat Aug 8, 05:03 PM
Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry (hip) was activated from the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list Saturday, Aug. 8.
|Footballguys view: The move to put Landry on the PUP list was mostly procedural as he was always expected to be ready for the start of the regular season. Landry had hip surgery back in February and has been on the road to recovery since then. If QB Baker Mayfield has a bounce-back year in 2020 it's good news for all receivers in the passing game. Landry is a steady flex play in PPR leagues, coming off the board at WR33 (7.08) in 12-team PPR leagues.|

Dolphins | Miami adding Ricardo Louis Sat Aug 8, 04:06 PM
Free-agent WR Ricardo Louis (Dolphins) agreed to terms with the Miami Dolphins Saturday, Aug. 8, according to a source. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
|Footballguys view: The Dolphins had two receivers (Allen Hurns, Albert Wilson) opt out for the 2020 season. Adding Louis for veteran depth makes sense. Louis was signed to a one-year deal (as an ERFA) earlier this year but was cut back in July. A neck injury (2018) and knee injury (2019) has kept Louis off the field for the last two regular seasons. Once thought of as a long-shot for the 53-man roster, his chances are better now.|

Bills | Devin Singletary a breakout candidate Sat Aug 8, 03:42 PM
Buffalo Bills RB Devin Singletary is a strong Year 2 breakout candidate, according to NFL.com analyst Maurice Jones-Drew. 'Offensive coordinator Brian Daboll will give his second-year back plenty of opportunities in both the run and pass games after watching Singletary excel between the tackles and as a pass catcher,' Jones-Drew wrote. 'With the entire Bills' offense trending in the right direction, I'm projecting that Singletary will get 250 carries, 1,300 scrimmage yards and eight to 10 TDs in Year 2.'
|Footballguys view: Singletary had a strong rookie season in 2019. He's got great balance and vision as a runner, and Singletary knows how to pick up extra yardage after contact. With the Bills passing offense likely improved, that will continue to take away the attention of opposing defenses. Reports earlier this offseason indicate the Bills want to get Singletary more involved in the passing game this season. His current ADP (RB25, 4.08) could prove to be quite the value pick if he breaks out in 2020.|

Packers | Aaron Rodgers in for long haul? Sat Aug 8, 03:20 PM
Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers isn't going anywhere else any time soon, head coach Matt LaFleur said recently. 'Right now, most importantly, Aaron's our quarterback and I see him here for a really long time,' LaFleur said. 'And however long that is, I don't think anybody knows. Nothing's guaranteed in this league but I feel so lucky to be able to work with him on a daily basis. I don't see that changing for a really long time.'
|Footballguys view: When the team selected QB Jordan Love in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft, and not pluck a wide receiver from this potentially historic class, did not really indicate Rodgers is there for the long haul. We'll see how he meshes with LaFleur's offense in the second season together as Rodgers continues to play at a high level. We'll also monitor the progress of Love as he gets used to the pro game as that is a big jump from Utah State to the NFL. Rodgers may be another one in a long line of great quarterbacks who end their career somewhere other than the team that drafted him.|

Jets | Joe Flacco out minimal time Sat Aug 8, 01:00 PM
New York Jets QB Joe Flacco (neck) is expected to just miss one or two games this season. He has his final checkup in September.

Rams | Cooper Kupp hasn't had contract talks Sat Aug 8, 11:43 AM
Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp has not had talks with the team about a contract extension, he said via videoconference.
|Footballguys view: "I love it here. I don't want to go anywhere. In terms of all the contract stuff, I'm letting that be handled by my agent and staying out of it." Kupp said. He's in the final year of his rookie contract but the team should find a way to get something done. They also have to work on an extension with CB Jalen Ramsey in the near future.|

Dolphins | Jordan Howard up in air Sat Aug 8, 11:41 AM
Miami Dolphins RB Jordan Howard's role is undefined, according to running backs coach Eric Studesville.
|Footballguys view: Howard should be the lead back when it comes to carries in 2020. He's a powerful back who can grind down an opponent as the game goes on. Howard should be replaced on passing downs with Matt Breida.|

Dolphins | MIA not quitting on Kalen Ballage Sat Aug 8, 11:01 AM
Miami Dolphins RB Kalen Ballage hasn't lost the team's faith as running backs coach Eric Studesville said he hasn't given up on him.
|Footballguys view: Ballage has been disappointing during his time with the Dolphins. He's a big back but he doesn't run with enough authority. He can catch passes out of the backfield but that part of his game has not impressed in the pros. Ballage is now competing for the no.3 spot in the RB room behind Jordan Howard and Matt Breida.|
