Chargers | LAC agrees to deals with seven picks Fri May 9, 04:42 PM
Los Angeles Chargers third-round draft choice DT Jamaree Caldwell, fourth-round draft choice LB Kyle Kennard, fifth-round draft choice WR KeAndre Lambert-Smith, fifth-round draft choice TE Oronde Gadsden II, sixth-round draft choice OG Branson Taylor, sixth-round draft choice S R.J. Mickens and seventh-round draft choice CB Trikweze Bridges signed four-year contracts with the Chargers Friday, May 9. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Orande Gadsen II is a player with a freakish athletic skill set. He's a weapon as a tight end, and Gadsen can use a blend of size and speed to make plays. Gadsen will learn behind Will Dissly and Tyler Conklin in his rookie season, but he's got the upside to one day be a starter. |
New Orleans Saints fourth-round draft choice LB Danny Stutsman, fourth-round draft choice CB Quincy Riley, sixth-round draft choice RB Devin Neal, seventh-round draft choice TE Moliki Matavao and seventh-round draft choice DE Fadil Diggs signed four-year contracts with the Saints Friday, May 9. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Neal is the type of runner who reminded some in the scouting community of Joe Mixon. He's a late-round pick, so Neal is not a given for the 53-man roster in New Orleans. However, he's got a three-down skill set and could be a starter in the league. That's why we're monitoring him in super deep dynasty formats. |
San Francisco 49ers third-round draft choice LB Nick Martin, third-round draft choice CB Upton Stout, fourth-round draft choice WR Jordan Watkins, fifth-round draft choice RB Jordan James, fifth-round draft choice S Marques Sigle, seventh-round draft choice Connor Colby and seventh-round draft choice WR Junior Bergen signed four-year contracts with the 49ers Friday, May 9. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Any running back added to the 49ers roster will attract out attention. James can turn short passes into long gains with speed and quickness. We'll watch him in camp as he works to earn a roster spot behind starting RB Christian McCaffrey. |
Free-agent OT Andre Dillard (Packers), OT Nicholas Petit-Frere (Titans) and CB Dallis Flowers (Buccaneers) signed one-year contracts with the San Francisco 49ers Friday, May 9. Financial terms were not disclosed. The team also waived OG Jalen McKenzie and waived/injured CB Tre'Vius Hodges-Tomlinson (undisclosed).

Link to storyNew York Giants seventh-round draft choice CB Korie Black signed a four-year contract with the Giants Friday, May 9, worth $4.304 million.
Link to storyNew England Patriots third-round draft choice WR Kyle Williams, third-round draft choice C Jared Wilson, fourth-round draft choice Joshua Farmer, fifth-round draft choice LB Bradyn Swinson, sixth-round draft choice PK Andres Borregales, seventh-round draft choice OT Marcus Bryant, seventh-round draft choice CB Kobee Minor and seventh-round draft choice LS Julian Ashby signed four-year contracts with the Patriots Friday, May 9. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Kyle Williams is a quick receiver with speed to flip the field on any catch. He'll have a chance to become a favorite target for QB Drake Maye this year. Williams begins his pro career as the no.3 receiver on the depth chart behind Stefon Diggs and DeMario Douglas. |
Buffalo Bills third-round pick DE Landon Jackson, fifth-round pick DB Jordan Hancock, fifth-round pick TE Jackson Hawes, sixth-round pick CB Dorian Strong, sixth-round pick OT Chase Lundt and seventh-round pick WR Kaden Prawther signed undisclosed four-year deals Friday, May 7.
Footballguys view: Hawes is a player we will monitor in deep dynasty formats. A former high school linebacker, Hawes was mostly a blocker in college at Yale. He needs to develop as a route runner and we'll see if the Bills want to use him as more than a blocker. Prawther is an outside receiver with good ball skills, but he's not afraid to mix things up in the middle of the field. |
Miami Dolphins fifth-round pick DT Jordan X. Phillips, fifth-round pick CB Jason Marshall Jr., fifth-round pick S Dante Trader Jr., sixth-round pick RB Ollie Gordon II and seventh-round pick DT Zeek Biggers signed their rookie four-year deals Friday, May 9. Phillips, Marshall and Trader, all selected in the fifth round, will each total about $4.6 million on the scale. Gordon, a sixth-round pick, is due to make more than $4.4 million. Ewers and Biggers, as seventh-rounders, are set to make around $4.3 million.
Footballguys view: Gordon is a player we appreciate because of his size/athleticism combination. He's a big-bodied back (226 pounds) with the movement skills of a smaller back. In the NFL, Gordon needs to show the ability to use his size as a weapon in a power game. The rookie is competing for a reserve spot this year behind De'Von Achane and Jaylen Wright. |
Indianapolis Colts third-round pick CB Justin Walley, fourth-round pick OT Jalen Travis, fifth-round pick RB DJ Giddens, sixth-round pick QB Riley Leonard, sixth-round pick DT Tim Smith and seventh-round pick S Hunter Wohler.
Footballguys view: We like the upside of Giddens in deep dynasty formats. He's a slashing runner who doesn't waste a ton of motion with the ball in his hands. Giddens needs to prove himself better as a pass catcher (too many drops), and perhaps add some more muscle to his frame. He will compete for a reserve spot behind Jonathan Taylor and Khalil Herbert. |

Link to storyMiami Dolphins CB Jalen Ramsey, who was expected to be traded or released before training camp, has remained in 'great touch' with Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay since the Rams traded him to the Dolphins just over two years ago.'He is a total stud and you look at - obviously he has continued to play at a really high level. He and I have kept in great touch even since we ended up trading him to Miami. Special competitor, great person, great father. And so there are a lot of layers when you're talking about a player of his caliber, with regards to the contract, the compensation that they would be looking for in exchange for receiving a player of his magnitude. And so those conversations are ongoing as I'm sure they are with multiple teams. And we'll see, but we're never gonna shy away from opportunities to increase the competitiveness of our roster or add great players as long as it fits within the framework of everything that an acquisition like that would entail,' McVay told Adam Schein of SiriusXM Mad Dog Radio recently.

Green Bay Packers third-round draft choice WR Savion Williams (Texas Christian), fourth-round draft choice DL Barryn Sorrell (Texas), fifth-round draft choice DE Collin Oliver (Oklahoma State), sixth-round draft choice DT Warren Brinson (Georgia) and seventh-round draft choices CB Micah Robinson (Tulane) and OL John Williams (Cincinnati) signed their four-year rookie contracts on Thursday, May 1. Financial terms of the deals were not immediately disclosed.
Footballguys view: Savion Williams is the player we're most excited about here, and Fantasy GMs should follow suit. Super athletic and with size, Williams reminds some in the scouting community of Nico Collins (Texans). He can take the top off the defense, and Williams has strength after the catch too. With refined route-running and improved concentration, Williams could end up being a steal for the Packers - and for dynasty GMs out there. |
Green Bay Packers CB Jaire Alexander would prefer to be cut so he can choose his destination. In the opinion of SI.com's Albert Breer, the most likely scenario, though, is he returns to Green Bay on a revised contract.
