Broncos | Adam Prentice elevated Sat Sep 13, 05:22 PM
Denver Broncos practice squad FB Adam Prentice was elevated to the active roster Saturday, Sept. 13, and will be available for Week 2.
Link to storyDenver Broncos TE Nate Adkins (ankle) and LB Dre Greenlaw (quad) were limited in practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 2 against the Indianapolis Colts. TE Evan Engram (calf), DL John Franklin-Myers (knee), and LB Alex Singleton (thumb) practiced in full on Friday, Sept. 12, and no longer appear on the injury report.
Footballguys view: Engram left last week with a calf injury, but is good to go against the Colts. He's a high floor/low ceiling TE1 play this week, and more attractive in PPR leagues and .5 and nonPPR leagues. |

Link to storyDenver Broncos TE Lucas Krull, FB Adam Prentice, WR Trent Sherfield and TE Adam Trautman each had one catch apiece in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans. Krull had a 7-yard catch on two targets, Trautman had five yards on one target, Prentice cashed in his target for four yards, and Sherfield had a 3-yard snag on his lone target.

Denver Broncos WR Marvin Mims Jr. was good for three receptions and 12 yards on four targets in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans.
Link to storyDenver Broncos RB Tyler Badie did not have a carry in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans, but he posted two receptions for 16 yards on six targets.

Denver Broncos RB J.K. Dobbins rushed 16 times for 63 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans, while adding two catches for five yards on two targets.
Footballguys view: As NFL.com's Nick Shook notes, Dobbins' debut included an excellent cutback on an inside ride and a pinball-like exit to the left, where Dobbins maintained his balance and sprinted into the end zone for his first score as a Bronco. Rookie RJ Harvey got involved in the fourth quarter, too, ripping off a 50-yard run that helped set up Dobbins' touchdown, a two-play display of how the Broncos' versatility can help them significantly late in close games. We knew Denver had weapons entering 2025. Expect both these backs to continue providing fantasy investors with reasonable week-to-week production. |

Broncos tight end Evan Engram was designated as questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans with a calf injury, the Fox broadcast announced in the fourth quarter. He did not return.
Footballguys view: Engram twice went into the team's blue medical tent before earning that questionable designation. He had three catches for 21 yards on four targets before exiting the game. Engram, who signed a two-year, $23 million contract with the Broncos this spring, missed eight games due to various injuries with the Jaguars last season. With Engram sidelined, the team's remaining top tight ends on the depth chart were Adam Trautman and Lucas Krull (Nate Adkins was out with an ankle injury). The Broncos play the Colts in Week 2. We'll have to wait and see if Engram is available. |

Denver Broncos RB RJ Harvey rushed six times for 70 yards in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans, highlighted by a second-half 50-yard scamper. He also had one reception on one target, but it went for minus-1 yard.
Link to storyDenver Broncos QB Bo Nix completed 25-of-40 passes for 176 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans, while running eight times for 18 yards with a fumble lost.
Footballguys view: As ESPN.com's Jeff Legwold notes, Nix threw an interception on a 50/50 ball intended for Courtland Sutton in the first half, ripped an under-pressure pass well across the field into a tight window that became a closed window by the time the ball arrived, resulting in another interception, and also fumbled while attempting to escape the pocket. On the flip side, Nix also fired a laser down the sideline to Sutton for a touchdown in the first half's final minute. Overall, Nix had a good day, but better teams will make the Broncos pay for his turnovers. |
Denver Broncos LB Nik Bonitto posted three solo tackles, a sack, two tackles for loss and three quarterback hits in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans.

Denver Broncos WR Marvin Mims (thigh) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 4.
Footballguys view: Mims is good to go for Week 1 against the Titans. We think the no.2 receiver for the Broncos will split between Mims and Troy Franklin this year. |
Denver Broncos LB Nik Bonitto agreed to a four-year deal worth up to $120 million Thursday, Sept. 4. The deal guarantees him $70 million and makes him the highest-paid non-quarterback in club history.
Footballguys view: Bonitto is one of the best pure rushers in the league. The Broncos have been working on his deal for some time, as he was a priority for them this offseason. Now, Bonitto is well paid and a key cog on arguably the league's best defense. |

Denver Broncos WRs Pat Bryant and Troy Franklin are listed both as No. 2 wide receivers on the depth chart ahead of the Week 1 game against the Tennessee Titans behind starter WRs Courtland Sutton and Marvin Mims. WR Trent Sherfield is listed as No. 3.

Denver Broncos RB Tyler Badie is listed as the No. 3 tailback behind starter RB J.K. Dobbins and backup RB RJ Harvey on the depth chart release ahead of the Week 1 game against the Tennessee Titans. RB Jaleel McLaughlin is listed as the No. 4 tailback.
Link to storyDenver Broncos CB Ja'Quan McMillian is listed as the starting nickelback on the team's Week 1 depth chart, ahead of first-round pick CB Jahdae Barron.
Link to storyDenver Broncos TE Nate Adkins (ankle) did not participate in practice Monday, Sept. 1.
Link to storyDenver Broncos WR Marvin Mims (groin) participated in practice Monday, Sept. 1.
Footballguys view: We've been monitoring this injury since it was first reported last week. That Mims is back on the field is obviously a positive. As we previously noted, Mims can be the no.2 receiver for the Broncos opposite of Courtland Sutton. In addition to his work on offense, Mims is an All-Pro return man. Fantasy GMs can look at Mims as a big-play dependent flex option if healthy. |
Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix averaged 12.9 air yards per attempt when targeting WR Courtland Sutton last season compared to 5.3 air yards when targeting any other player.
Footballguys view: Sutton was tied for 21st in the league in tight-window receptions -- where the nearest defender is less than a yard away at the catch -- and was the only Broncos player among the league's top 90 in the category. He also finished with 135 targets, 65 more than the Broncos' No. 2 player (running back Javonte Williams) and 80 more than the Broncos' next-highest wide receiver (Devaughn Vele). It's safe to say that Sutton earned the trust of Nix, something that's likely to serve him well this season. |
Denver Broncos TE Nate Adkins (ankle) is expected to be a candidate at fullback once he returns from his injury. Adkins likely will not be available for Week 1 because of his ankle injury.
Link to storyFree-agent RB Blake Watson (Broncos) is a player the Denver Broncos are interested in signing to their practice squad but have to wait at least three weeks since they originally waived him with an injury settlement.
Footballguys view: Watson, a converted receiver coming out of Memphis last year, has impressed during his time with the Broncos last year and this summer. However, he's struggled to stay healthy and would be buried on the team's depth chart. Fantasy GMs in crazy deep dynasty formats should be monitoring him. |
Free-agent TE Patrick Murtagh (Jaguars) was signed to the Denver Broncos practice squad Thursday, Aug. 28.
Link to storyDenver Broncos WR Marvin Mims (groin) did not practice on Thursday, Aug. 28, but will return Monday, Sept. 1, according to head coach Sean Payton. Mims was evaluated for a groin injury on Wednesday, an injury the team didn't consider serious, according to the Denver Gazette's Kyle Fredrickson.
Footballguys view: The injury is not considered serious, but it's something worth monitoring. Mims can be the no.2 receiver for the Broncos opposite of Courtland Sutton. In addition to his work on offense, Mims is an All-Pro return man. Fantasy GMs can look at Mims as a big-play dependent flex option if healthy. |
