Free-agent WR Gage Larvadain (Browns) likely will be a candidate for the Cleveland Browns practice squad if he clears waivers.
Link to storyHouston Texans WR Christian Kirk (hamstring) is not participating in practice Saturday, Sept. 13.
Footballguys view: There are two Monday night games this week, and the Texans will face the Buccaneers without Kirk in the lineup. This was initially thought to be a two-week injury, so perhaps Kirk could do more in practice next week. Jaylin Noel and Jayden Higgins should get more work without Kirk on the field. |

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin (ankle) has been ruled out of the Week 2 game, according to head coach Todd Bowles.
Footballguys view: The reports about Godwin getting out there in Week 2 did seem a bit outlandish. When things were initially reported on this injury, many felt Godwin would be out until Week 5 or Week 6. It's good to see that he may be closer to a return, but it's not happening on Monday night against the Texans. |

Link to storyThe New England Patriots traded WR Ja'Lynn Polk and a seventh-round selection in the 2028 NFL Draft to the New Orleans Saints Saturday, Sept. 13, in exchange for a sixth-round selection in the 2027 NFL Draft, according to multiple sources.
Footballguys view: In late August, Polk underwent shoulder surgery and is out for the year. The 2024 second-round pick was in danger of making the Patriots final roster if he was healthy. Clearly, the Patriots have made plans without him and have an interesting group of receivers for second-year QB Drake Maye. |
The New Orleans Saints acquired WR Ja'Lynn Polk and a seventh-round selection in the 2028 NFL Draft from the New England Patriots Saturday, Sept.
Now, Polk gets to rehab with his new team with a fresh start in 2026. The Saints have been looking for wide receiver help for some time, as evidenced by this trade and the move to get Devaughn Vele from the Broncos earlier this summer. |
Kansas City Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy (shoulder) has been ruled out for Week 2's game versus the Philadelphia Eagles.
Footballguys view: Worthy is out this week against the Eagles, but he could be back soon. In Week 1 when Travis Kelce took him out, it was feared to be a serious injury. Those concerns have been squashed by recent reports which suggest Worthy could return later this month. |
Several unidentified NFL clubs expressed interest in trading for Philadelphia Eagles WR A.J. Brown during the offseason but general manager Howie Roseman told teams that Brown was not available, according to The Athletic's Dianna Russini.
Footballguys view: It makes sense given the talent that Brown has. Roseman is one of the best in the league, and boy does he love to trade, but moving on from Brown at this time makes little sense. Not using him enough (like in Week 1) doesn't make sense either, so Fantasy GMs are hopeful Brown will do more than the one target, one reception for eight yards stat line he had in the opener. |

The Miami Dolphins have not received any phone calls from other NFL teams expressing interest in trading for WR Tyreek Hill and they have no plans to move him, according to multiple sources.
Footballguys view: Not receiving any calls about Hill seems odd. He's clearly frustrated, and the Dolphins look like they're a game away from being a dumpster fire for the 2025 season. It's bad right now for the Dolphins, and that makes Hill an obvious trade candidate. Complicating things are Hill's recent domestic violence allegations. The NFL trade deadline is November 5th. |

Kansas City Chiefs WR Jalen Royals (knee) has been ruled out for Week 2's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Footballguys view: Royals is dealing with knee tendinitis and it make take a few more weeks for that to clear up. Hollywood Brown is the no1 receiver for now, and without Royals (and a suspended Rashee Rice) we'll see Tyquan Thornton and JuJu Smith-Schuster get more work. |
New York Jets WR Allen Lazard is expected to be active for the Week 2 game.

Denver Broncos TE Nate Adkins (ankle) and LB Dre Greenlaw (quad) were limited in practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 2 against the Indianapolis Colts. TE Evan Engram (calf), DL John Franklin-Myers (knee), and LB Alex Singleton (thumb) practiced in full on Friday, Sept. 12, and no longer appear on the injury report.
Footballguys view: Engram left last week with a calf injury, but is good to go against the Colts. He's a high floor/low ceiling TE1 play this week, and more attractive in PPR leagues and .5 and nonPPR leagues. |

Seattle Seahawks S Nick Emmanwori (ankle) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 2 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. CB Devon Witherspoon (knee) did not practice all week and is listed as doubtful. S Julian Love (groin) was limited in practice on Friday but is expected to play. LB Ernest Jones (shoulder), LB Uchenna Nwosu (knee), DL Jarran Reed (back), and WR Dareke Young (hamstring) practiced in full on Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.
Footballguys view: Aaron Rodgers will likely get to dodge Witherspoon, and Riq Woolen, the Seahawks other long/fast/physical corner, had some major lapses last week. The Seahawks second round pick, Emmanwori, was seen as a potential x-factor who could make splash plays early in the season, so Pittsburgh is lucky to avoid him too. If the pass rush doesn't get home, the Steelers could have some success throwing downfield against the Seahawks. |

S Christian Izien (oblique), CB Zyon McCollum (neck, shoulder), CB Benjamin Morrison (quad), and LB Haason Reddick (quad) practiced in full on Friday.
Footballguys view: The Bucs are already likely to be without their left tackle, Wirfs. If their right tackle, Goedeke is also out, the Texans pass rush will be tough to slow down on Monday night. Don't expect a ceiling game from Baker Mayfield this week. |

Footballguys view: Ekwonu is recovering from an August 24 appendectomy. The team will err on the side of caution, but if their starting left tackle can play on Sunday, it should be a boost for Bryce Young, who certainly needs one right now. |

Chicago Bears CB Kyler Gordon (hamstring) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 2 against the Detroit Lions. WR Jahdae Walker (ankle) did not practice on Friday, Sept. 12, and is listed as doubtful. DL Grady Jarrett (knee) was limited in practice on Friday and is listed as questionable. CB Josh Blackwell (groin), LB T.J. Edwards (hamstring), CB Jaylon Johnson (calf, groin), RB Roschon Johnson (foot), and WR DJ Moore (abdomen, groin) practiced in full on Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.
Footballguys view: The Bears secondary will miss Gordon against the Lions passing game after JJ McCarthy came alive in the fourth quarter to snatch a comeback victory against a Bears defense that shut him down for three quarters. Roschon Johnson has been nursing that foot injury for weeks. Head coach Ben Johnson said he wants to get seventh round pick Kyle Monangai more involved this week. Johnson could also get his number called this week as the Bears will look to run more early than they did last week. |

Updating a previous report, Kansas City Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy (shoulder) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 12, but is listed as doubtful for Week 2.
Footballguys view: Worthy would be a risky play only 9 days removed from a dislocated shoulder and wearing a harness anyway, so this isn't a bad break for fantasy. Marquise Brown is a solid WR3/Flex in PPR leagues as he'll likely lead the way in targets, but Juju Smith-Schuster and Tyquan Thornton will play larger roles with Worthy likely out. |
