Ravens | Derrick Henry more successful after halftime Sun Jun 29, 02:36 PM
Baltimore Ravens RB Derrick Henry rushed for 1,119 yards and eight touchdowns during the second half of games last season. He rushed for 740 yards and eight touchdowns in the first half.
Footballguys view: Defenses get weary dealing with Henry, Lamar Jackson, and a multi-faceted, ultraefficient passing game. The Ravens offense could even better this year with a line that will have four returning starters, three of which are still on their rookie contracts. Henry finished as RB4 in PPR leagues last year, a hair behind Bijan Robinson, but is going at RB5 and 11 overall in the latest Footballguys ADP. |

Baltimore Ravens WR Devontez Walker has a 'chance to be really good,' according to head coach John Harbaugh.'Every day, all he does is show up and go 100 miles an hour. He's got a chance to be really good,' Harbaugh told the team's website.
Footballguys view: We appreciate Walker in dynasty formats..and for good reason. A fourth-round pick out of North Carolina in the 2024 NFL Draft, Walker didn't do much as a rookie for the Ravens. He had only one catch, but it was for a 21-yard touchdown against the Giants. This offseason, reports indicate Walker has been working on learning the playbook to play with more confidence. The ball skills and body control are there for Walker to be a reliable target. We'll see him compete for a roster spot behind Rashod Bateman, DeAndre Hopkins, and Zay Flowers. |
Baltimore Ravens PK John Hoyland has a chance to win the kicking duties over PK Tyler Loop, in the opinion of The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec, who writes that Loop's struggles in offseason practices 'open[ed] the door' for Hoyland, and that the team 'could have a difficult decision' as to who to keep.
Link to storyFree-agent LB C.J. Mosley (Jets) and the Baltimore Ravens had 'mutual interest,' but Mosley was unable to get cleared on his neck injury before ultimately deciding to retire. Mosley was a first-round draft choice of the Ravens in 2014 and played his first five NFL seasons in Baltimore.

Baltimore Ravens WR DeAndre Hopkins has been helping the other receivers with advice this offseason, according to WR Rashod Bateman.
Footballguys view: Despite a midseason trade to a receiver-needy Kansas City team last year, Hopkins struggled to find a productive role for himself. The Ravens ranked 31st in pass attempts last year. And with Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman, Mark Andrews, and Isaiah Likely all projected ahead of him in the pecking order, it's hard to expect much from a 33-year-old Hopkins. After playing with the Chiefs last year and the Ravens this year, Hopkins' primary goal appears to be getting a ring before he retires. |

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson said he is not interested in talking about his contract situation at this time.
Footballguys view: GM Eric DeCosta said earlier this month that contract negotiations have started with Jackson, including during OTAs. Minicamp would be a convenient time for the two sides to continue those conversations. Jackson signed a five-year, $260 million deal during the 2023 offseason that made him the NFL's highest-paid player at the time. Dallas' Dak Prescott currently tops the NFL with a contract averaging $60 million per season. Head coach John Harbaugh said in March that Jackson's next contract will again put him at the top of the salary scale. "Sounds good," Jackson said when asked about Harbaugh's comments. |

Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is wrapping up his first offseason program with the Ravens, and he's made a strong impression on at least one of his new teammates. It's an important one. "That guy is dope. He is different," quarterback Lamar Jackson said via the team's website.
Footballguys view: Hopkins made a sliding, one-handed grab of a pass that Jackson threw behind him in Tuesday's minicamp practice, and Jackson raved about what would come from Hopkins' ability to make plays like that when he spoke to reporters after the session. "That's some super vet type of stuff," Jackson said. "I am looking forward to throwing a lot of touchdowns to him this year." As PFT notes, Hopkins, currently being drafted as WR72, and Jackson will continue working on theirs at training camp before hitting the field against the Bills on the first Sunday night of the regular season. |

Updating a previous report, free-agent CB Jaire Alexander (Packers) signed a one-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens Wednesday, June 18, worth as much as $6 million.

Free-agent CB Jaire Alexander (Packers) signed with the Baltimore Ravens Wednesday, June 18. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Subsequent reporting indicates Alexander signed a one-year contract for $4 million with $2 million in incentives. Alexander boosts a corner crew that includes All-Pro Marlon Humphrey, 2024 first-rounder Nate Wiggins and veteran Chidobe Awuzie. If he remains healthy, Alexander and Wiggins outside and Humphrey in the slot make for a very good trio. Of course, health has been an issue for Alexander. With the Packers unable to count on him week in and week out, they didn't want to pay $16.5 million in base salary. Now, however, the Ravens get Alexander at a considerable discount. |

Baltimore Ravens TE Isaiah Likely has been 'the toughest guy to cover in practice so far,' according to teammate - and 2025 first-round pick - S Malaki Starks.
Footballguys view: Last season, the Ravens had two tight ends they relied on every game, with Mark Andrews and Likely. Andrews led the Ravens among tight ends in receiving yards with 673 yards on 69 catches, while Isaiah Likely also had a key role in the offense with 477 yards of his own. But Likely is the longer-term answer in Baltimore, and reports like this confirm what we've seen flashes of the last three seasons. |
Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson participated in only one of the voluntary workouts this offseason, but head coach John Harbaugh said Jackson looked good in that workout and is not bothered by the absences.
Footballguys view: Given the voluntary nature of the workouts, there's not much Harbaugh and the Ravens can say -- at least nothing they didn't account for with his last contract. Jackson's 2023 deal includes separate $750,000 workout bonuses in 2024, 2025, 2026, and 2027. To get the money, he has to show up for at least 80 percent of the workouts. Like he has this year, Jackson also passed on that bonus last year. Nonetheless, he finished as QB1 overall with an average of 25.1 points per game. So, nobody should get too worked up about this year's absences. |

In addition to the Dallas Cowboys, Baltimore Ravens WR Rashod Bateman received trade interest from the Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots earlier this offseason before he signed a three-year, $36.75 million contract extension with the Ravens.
Footballguys view: All three teams were in the market for a classic "X" receiver who can win against NFL cornerbacks outside of the numbers. The Cowboys traded for George Pickens, the Patriots signed Stefon Diggs, and the Packers took Matthew Golden in the first round. Bateman's contract is about the same as the one the Bills gave Joshua Palmer, so this could be a bargain if Bateman plays the way he did last year and stays healthy. |

Baltimore Ravens TE Isaiah Likely is a player the Ravens could target for an extension, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Footballguys view: Likely is the tight end of the future in Baltimore, and the future looks bright with his upside and potential. Just about a week ago, Ravens HC John Harbaugh said "I want to see (Isaiah Likely) be an All-Pro" in 2025. That means Likely be working to get out of the shadow of Mark Andrews this year. That also means it would be wise for the Ravens to take care of business with Likely before his production skyrockets (as well as his price tag). |
Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson has started preliminary talks with the Ravens about a possible contract extension, according to general manager Eric DeCosta.
Footballguys view: Jackson is under contract through 2027, as he signed a five-year, $260 million contract with the Ravens in 2023. There is no rush to get this deal done, but the quarterback market is crazy so perhaps the sooner the better for the Ravens. |

Baltimore Ravens WR Zay Flowers (knee) told reporters on Tuesday, June 3, that his knee feels great and he is not being limited during spring practices.
Footballguys view: In case you missed it, Flowers posted a video on social media last month that showed him catching passes from QB Lamar Jackson. Adding to the positive vibes, head coach John Harbaugh confirmed the knee injury Flowers suffered last season did not require surgery. He will be the team's no.1 wide receiver again. Flowers is coming off back-to-back 100-target seasons (and his first 1,000-yard season in 2024). He's WR21 on the Footballguys 2025 Draft Projections. |

Baltimore Ravens RB Keaton Mitchell said his knee is feeling as good as it did before he suffered his torn anterior cruciate ligament.
Footballguys view: Mitchell, who averaged 8.4 yards per carry on 47 runs in his rookie year, has been impressive in early workouts. With Derrick Henry leading the way and Justice Hill coming off a career year, there aren't too many more offensive snaps for other running backs in Baltimore. But Mitchell has proven he doesn't need too many snaps to make a significant impact with his big-play ability. He could have an immediate impact in the return game, as he averaged 31.2 yards on his five returns last season. |

Baltimore Ravens WR DeAndre Hopkins is 'moving great' at OTAs, according to head coach John Harbaugh. 'He's going to be a big-body, contested-catch receiver for us, certainly,' Harbaugh said.

The Baltimore Ravens promoted national scout Bobby Vega to senior personnel executive Friday, May 30.
Footballguys view: Ravens GM Eric DeCosta announced eight promotions and one new hire within the football operations department Friday, including several in scouting. The Ravens are among the best of the best in terms of front office talent. With a proven eye for talent, Vega is on track to one day be a general manager in this league. |
Free-agent DT John Jenkins has not officially signed with the Baltimore Ravens at this point because the team is waiting for after June 1 when a roster spot opens up, according to head coach John Harbaugh.

Link to storyBaltimore Ravens WR Zay Flowers (knee) posted a video on social media that showed him catching passes from QB Lamar Jackson.
Footballguys view: Earlier this month, Ravens HC John Harbaugh said the knee injury Flowers suffered last season did not require surgery. Flowers was injured in the last game of the regular season, and his absence was felt in the postseason. He will be the team's no.1 wide receiver again, and Flowers is coming off back-to-back 100 target seasons (and his first 1,000-yard season in 2024). Fantasy GMs see Flowers as a WR3 with upside in 2025. |

Baltimore Ravens S Sanoussi Kane and S Beau Brade likely will be candidates for the No. 3 safety job this upcoming season with S Ar'Darius Washington (Achilles) sidelined, in the opinion of BaltimoreRavens.com's Ryan Mink.
Link to storyBaltimore Ravens RB Derrick Henry said he is focusing on this upcoming season and will not say if the recent extension he signed will be his last contract.
Footballguys view: Henry's two-year extension is worth $30 million. It kept Henry from becoming a free agent at the end of this season and rewarded him with the biggest deal ever given to a running back over 30. "I think it's just focus on this year and then focus to continue to get better year after year that I'm here -- that's always going to be my focus," Henry said. "I love football, I love playing. I know people look at my age, but I don't really try to focus on that. I just focus on, 'How can Derrick Henry be better, how can Derrick Henry help the Ravens get to where they want to get to?'" Henry, 31, has not shown any signs of slowing down. Last season, his first with the Ravens, he ran for 1,921 yards, the most by a running back 30 or older in NFL history. |

Baltimore Ravens RB Derrick Henry ran for a league-high 909 yards after contact during the 2024 regular season, according to Pro Football Reference.
Footballguys view: Henry is pretty much a Mack truck between the tackles...or anywhere on the field. When he builds a head of steam, Henry is extremely difficult to bring down. With a new contract extension signed this week, Henry is set to lead the way on the ground for the Ravens again. We should see Henry get around 300 carries again this year after a monster 2024 with 325 carries, 1.921 yards, and 16 rushing touchdowns. |

Free-agent LB Jadeveon Clowney (Panthers) could be a possible option for the Baltimore Ravens this offseason, in the opinion of BaltimoreRavens.com's Ryan Mink.

Baltimore Ravens RB Derrick Henry agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension with the Ravens Wednesday, May 14, worth $30 million. Henry is guaranteed to receive $25 million over the next two seasons.
Footballguys view: It is the largest deal in NFL history for a running back over 30 years old. Henry is 31 years old and coming off a phenomenal first season in Baltimore, having compiled 1,921 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns on a career-high 5.9 yards per carry across 17 regular-season games. He added 193 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 19 catches. He became the first player in NFL history with multiple seasons of 1,900-plus rush yards. Henry, who signed a two-year contract with the Ravens last year, had been set to become a free agent after this season before agreeing to this new extension. Fantasy investors were already all in on Henry, who is going as RB6 in early best-ball drafts. He's RB7 on the initial Footballguys 2025 Draft Projections. |

Link to storyRavens released kicker Justin Tucker. After drafting kicker Tyler Loop, the organization continues to insist it is a "football decision."
Footballguys view: The team might insist it's a football decision, but Tucker has been accused of inappropriate behavior by 16 massage therapists from eight different Baltimore spas and wellness centers between 2012 and 2016, covering Tucker's first five seasons in the NFL. Tucker has publicly disputed the allegations twice, calling the accusations "unequivocally false." The NFL has been investigating the matter. Meanwhile, Loop finished his college career with the highest field goal percentage (83.75 percent) in Arizona history, and he made a program-record 62-yard field goal against Houston in 2024. Loop is versatile; he can handle kickoffs and was Arizona's primary punter in 2020. |

Baltimore Ravens WR Zay Flowers (knee) did not need to undergo offseason surgery on his injured knee and is making good progress in his rehab, according to head coach John Harbaugh.
Footballguys view: "He was doing a little dance in the weight room this last week and said he's feeling great," Harbaugh said of Flowers. "His knee's back. He did it with rehab." Flowers was injured in the 2024 regular-season finale, which kept him sidelined for Baltimore's two playoff games. Flowers had a career-high 1,059 receiving yards in his second season and averaged 14.3 yards on 74 catches, becoming the first Raven to make the Pro Bowl at wide receiver. Flowers opens as WR34 on the Footballguys 2025 Fantasy Football Draft Projections. |
