Rams | Matthew Stafford struggled around goal line Sat Jun 28, 09:31 AM
Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford completed only 41 percent of his passes inside the 10-yard line during the 2024 season.
Footballguys view: The Rams got Stafford signed to a two-year extension earlier this offseason, and now they need to get the most from the veteran quarterback. He's not the elite-level passer he used to be, but Stafford is perfect for the Sean McVay offense full of Shanahan concepts (play-action, zone-blocking). Projecting him for around 4,000 yards passing with 24 touchdowns (and around 10 interceptions) seems right, and that makes him a QB2 for Fantasy GMs. |

Free-agent QB Dresser Winn (UFL) is expected to sign with the Los Angeles Rams.
Footballguys view: This is Winn's third stint with the Rams. An undrafted free agent for the Rams out of UT Martin in 2022, Winn had to go to Canada (Edmonton Elks) and the UFL (Memphis Showboats) to get on the field. In between playing in the CFL and the UFL, Winn has been with the Rams. |
Los Angeles Rams WR Quintez Cephus was waived Wednesday, June 25.

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said he believes WR Tutu Atwell is ready to take his play to another level this upcoming season.
Footballguys view: The Rams made a surprising investment in Atwell this offseason, bringing him back on a $10M deal. With Puka Nacua and Davante Adams expected to draw the defensive gravity, Atwell can theoretically use his speed to get behind defenses for big plays. But with a career high of 562 yards in a season, it's ok for fantasy drafters to take a wait-and-see approach. |

Los Angeles Rams RB Kyren Williams is still making progress on a new contract with the team, but there's still no timetable for when that deal may take place, head coach Sean McVay said Tuesday, June 17.
Footballguys view: As SI.com recently suggested, Williams might need another big season for him to earn a big payday. His numbers have increased each season, and it wouldn't be entirely shocking if he were to do so again. A strong season could give Williams a contract in the $10 million average annual value range, putting him among the highest-paid running backs in the NFL. For fantasy investors, Williams making good on his Footballguys 2025 Projection -- RB8 -- would be great since he's being drafted as RB12 in the third round of early drafts. |
Los Angeles Rams OT Alaric Jackson (blood clots) is dealing with blood clots again, which could put his 2025 season in doubt.
Footballguys view: This is why the team just signed DJ Humphries. Jackson started most of the last two seasons at left tackle for the Rams after missing nine games in 2022 because of blood clots. Humphries wasn't great in 2023 for Arizona before going down with a torn ACL and is turning 32 before the end of the season. If Jackson can't play this year, it will be a blow for the offense. |
Free-agent OT D.J. Humphries (Chiefs) agreed to terms with the Los Angeles Rams Thursday, June 12. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Link to storyLos Angeles Rams WR Puke Nacua said he has already felt a 'positive impact' from WR Davante Adams, and Adams has been helping Nacua diversify his releases off the line.
Footballguys view: Adams and Nacua can both be WR1s for fantasy, and Nacua's value can increase in year three even with Adams representing an upgrade from Cooper Kupp. The Rams offense should be better this year if Nacua can stay on the field. They'll also get a full speed Tyler Higbee back after he contributed late last year coming off of an ACL tear. |

Los Angeles Rams RB Blake Corum (forearm) has been participating in drills during the first week of OTAs.
Link to storyLos Angeles Rams fourth-round draft choice RB Jarquez Hunter signed a four-year contract with the Rams Friday, May 30. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Watching draft coverage behind the scenes with the Rams, it was clear that HC Sean McVay LOVES Hunter. It could be something...and it could be nothing. Hunter has to show off his skill in training camp and the preseason to earn the backup job behind Kyren Williams in 2025 (Blake Corum is his main competition for that spot). However, he's got a similar skill set to Williams and could be seen as an eventual starter. |
Free-agent OT David Quessenberry (Vikings) signed a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday, May 29. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.
Link to storyLos Angeles Rams RB Kyren Williams is making progress in contract extension talks with the team, according to head coach Sean McVay.
Footballguys view: According to SI.com, Williams needs a big season for him to earn another payday. His numbers have increased each season, and it wouldn't be entirely shocking if he were to do so again. A career year for a Los Angeles team vying for another shot at the Lombardi Trophy could give Williams a contract in the $10 million average annual value range, putting him among the highest-paid running backs in the NFL. For fantasy investors, Williams making good on his Footballguys 2025 Projection -- RB8 -- would be great since he's being drafted as RB12 in early best balls. |
Los Angeles Rams RB Kyren Williams recently noted that he is 'feeling good' about his chances of receiving a long-term contract extension, according to Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times. Per Klein, the two sides exchanged proposed contract terms in April, but progress has stalled from that point. 'Whether it happens now or I play out the season, I know it's going to happen eventually,' Williams said.
Footballguys view: We'd all love to see Williams locked into his spot in the Rams offense for the long haul. He broke out over the past two seasons and became one of the best at his position, thanks to the heavy volume that goes with the role. Accounting for nearly 81 percent of the Rams' rushing attempts by running backs last year, Williams ran the ball 316 times for 1,299 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2024. Those numbers were new career highs, surpassing the 1,144 yards and 12 touchdowns he compiled in 12 games during the 2023 campaign. He added 66 receptions for 388 yards and six more touchdowns over those two years. As for his immediate future, we know Williams will be a Ram this year, and his RB8 spot on the Footballguys Projections reflects his role and past success. |
Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford said he has been working out with WR Davante Adams this offseason and that Adams fits right in with the team.
Footballguys view: Adams is a special player, and he can still be a big threat in his age-32 season. Stafford and Adams should be a fantasy force, so Adams still should post WR2 numbers for Fantasy GMs out there. |

Los Angeles Rams DT David Olajiga was waived Wednesday, May 7.
Link to storyFree-agent WR Britain Covey (Eagles) signed a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Rams on Monday, May 5. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.
Link to storyLos Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford signed a renegotiated contract that will allow him to earn $44 million in 2025, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport. If Stafford is on the roster at the start of free agency in 2026, he will make another $40 million guaranteed.
Footballguys view: Considering that they don't have an heir apparent on the roster, Stafford seems likely to get every opportunity to earn that money. At this point, there's no reason to believe he can't play at a level similar to what we've seen in the last two years. He's 19-12 as a starter over that span, completing 64.2 percent of his passes for 7,727 yards with 44 touchdowns and 19 interceptions. Stafford gives the Rams a great shot at post-season play, and, as we've noted in the past, fantasy managers with stakes in Puka Nacua, Davante Adams, and Kyren Williams have a better chance of getting the most out of their investments. |

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said the team has big plans for TE Terrance Ferguson during his rookie season.
Footballguys view: Ferguson with the Rams was one of the most exciting landing spots for any rookie tight end. He has good speed, and during his time with the Oregon Ducks you could see Ferguson as a downfield target. He'll work with Tyler Higbee this season, but Ferguson looks like a future starter - and star - for the Rams in the near future. |
Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford is expected to go year-to-year with his decision to continue playing, but head coach Sean McVay said he hopes Stafford plays for several more seasons.
Footballguys view: The Rams don't have an heir apparent on the roster. But they do have two first-round picks for 2026, having acquired the Falcons' top selection for next year. That gives them ammunition to trade up for a quarterback in 2026 if they so desire. Still, McVay's hope is understandable. Stafford has kept the Rams contenders. He is 19-12 as a starter the past two seasons, completing 64.2 percent of his passes for 7,727 yards with 44 touchdowns and 19 interceptions. "We have a chance with him every time he's at the switch, and love working with him," McVay told Adam Schein on SiriusXM's Mad Dog Sports Radio. In addition, fantasy managers with stakes in Puka Nacua, Davante Adams, and Kyren Williams have a better chance of getting the most out of their investments. |

Miami Dolphins CB Jalen Ramsey, who was expected to be traded or released before training camp, has remained in 'great touch' with Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay since the Rams traded him to the Dolphins just over two years ago.'He is a total stud and you look at - obviously he has continued to play at a really high level. He and I have kept in great touch even since we ended up trading him to Miami. Special competitor, great person, great father. And so there are a lot of layers when you're talking about a player of his caliber, with regards to the contract, the compensation that they would be looking for in exchange for receiving a player of his magnitude. And so those conversations are ongoing as I'm sure they are with multiple teams. And we'll see, but we're never gonna shy away from opportunities to increase the competitiveness of our roster or add great players as long as it fits within the framework of everything that an acquisition like that would entail,' McVay told Adam Schein of SiriusXM Mad Dog Radio recently.
