Los Angeles Rams OT Andrew Whitworth recently told the team he plans to play in 2021, but that the 'entire process is still something he is thinking about,' according to Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic.

Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff is not guaranteed a roster spot for the 2021 season, according to comments made by general manager Les Snead on Tuesday, Jan. 26. Snead reportedly declined to provide a yes/no answer when he was 'asked repeatedly that there's a scenario' where Goff wouldn't be on the roster and referenced a recent quote from Aaron Rodgers about the future being 'a beautiful mystery,' according to ESPN's Lindsey Thiry.
Footballguys view: It would be tough to get rid of Goff due to the salary cap, but where there's a will there's a way. Things seem shaky right now for Goff and the Rams, but that could all clear up by the time free agency starts. |

Free-agent S Jake Gervase (Rams) signed a Reserve/Future contract with the Los Angeles Rams on Monday, Jan. 25.

Los Angeles Rams impending free-agent S John Johnson may be too expensive for the Rams to re-sign this offseason because they have limited salary cap space. The team could consider placing the franchise tag on Johnson.
Footballguys view: Standout corner Darious Williams will also be a restricted free agent and could draw a big offer sheet unless the Rams tender him at a first round level. |

Los Angeles DT Aaron Donald faced more double-teams when rushing the passer than any defensive tackle in the NFL in 2020 and posted pass rush wins at the highest rate of any player.
Footballguys view: Donald being less than 100% for the divisional round loss to the Packers was a big letdown for him and the potential for a more competitive game. He's the best in the game at his position and probably the best defensive player in the game period. |

Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Rams offensive coordinator Kevin O'Connell will not be allowed to interview for the offensive coordinator vacancy with the Los Angeles Chargers for now after the Rams denied the request based on the fact it would be a lateral move. However, the 'lines of communications remain open, so things could change,' according to Albert Breer of The MMQB.
Footballguys view: It's a lateral move so Rams coach Sean McVay can block the request. Former Rams defensive coordinator Brandon Staley takes over as the Chargers head coach, and he wanted to pluck some guys from the Rams staff to go along with him. |

Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Raheem Morris is reportedly nearing a deal to become the new defensive coordinator of the Los Angeles Rams, according to sources.
Footballguys view: The Rams will need to replace former DC Brandon Staley who went on to become the Chargers head coach. Morris got a chance as the interim coach with the Falcons last year but did not get that job, instead the Falcons went with Arthur Smith as their new head coach. Morris has a fine scheme and should fit in with the Rams. |

Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff's recent inconsistent play has left his status as the starting quarterback for the 2021 season in the air and may lead the team to bring in someone who can push him, according to comments made by the NFL Network's Steve Wyche.'The people I've spoken to said basically at this moment the relationship with Goff and (head coach Sean) McVay: not great. They need marriage counseling is what one person said to me. I think this is something that they're going to be able to work through, but there's got to be some healing and that's not just with Jared Goff's injured thumb,' Wyche said.
Footballguys view: Goff and McVay need an offseason like Packers head coach Matt LaFleur and QB Aaron Rodgers had last year. LeFleur and Rodgers did not look to be on the same page at times in 2019, and in 2020 they went out and secured the no.1 seed in the NFC and now sit one game away from the Super Bowl. Goff is no Rodgers, but he fought through injury in the playoffs and didn't look as bad as some had feared. We'll see if things can smooth over with some time away before offseason work starts later in the spring. |

Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff (thumb) will start Saturday, Jan. 16, in the divisional playoff game against the Green Bay Packers, Rams head coach Sean McVay said Thursday. Blake Bortles will serve as the backup.
Footballguys view: Zero surprise here. Goff was able to come off the bench in the Wild Card Round and lead the Rams to victory over Seattle even though he's not 100 percent healthy. Expect the Rams to limit their passing game and try to hit the Packers with RB Cam Akers early and often if they can. |

Footballguys view: Rib injuries come down to pain tolerance and Donald is one of the toughest players in the league. The math is pretty easy to do here. |
