Buffalo Bills DT Ed Oliver (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 2 game against the New York Jets, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported. The ankle injury is considered a multi-week injury.
Footballguys view: This is important not just because of Oliver's disruptive presence, but because the Jets are going to try to put the lean on the Bills run defense, especially after Derrick repeatedly left them in the dust last week. Two rookies, T.J. Sanders and Deone Walker, will help pick up the slack. |

Buffalo Bills WR Keon Coleman (groin) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 11. The Bills only held a walkthrough Thursday, so this is an estimation.

Buffalo Bills RB James Cook (hamstring) was limited in practice on Wednesday, Sept. 10.
Footballguys view: Cook's hamstring is something Fantasy GMs should be monitoring. The Bills are going to use Ray Davis and Ty Johnson in the backfield, but Cook is their lead back. Fantasy GMs see him as an RB2 with upside on a weekly basis. |
CB Taron Johnson (quad) and LB Shaq Thompson (hamstring/hand) did not practice on Wednesday, Sept. 10. CB Brandon Codrington (knee), RB James Cook (hamstring), TE Dawson Knox (hamstring), DL Gregory Rousseau (knee), and CB Tre'Davious White (groin) were limited in practice on Wednesday. Buffalo Bills WR Keon Coleman posted eight receptions for a team-high 112 yards and a touchdown on 11 targets in Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens.
Footballguys view: Coleman began his second season with a sterling, career-best effort. He emerged as Allen's go-to target in the second half to help steer the Bills' comeback, last-second win. Coleman had just one catch for 17 yards in the first half, but he came alive in the final 30 minutes. Allen's willingness to throw him the ball even in tight coverage could pay off for fantasy investors this season. |
Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen completed 33-of-46 passes for 394 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens, while running 14 times for 30 yards and two scores, as the Bills scored 16 points in the final four minutes to come back and win.
Footballguys view: As ESPN.com suggested, Allen's brilliance made up for a defense that struggled mightily. The Bills appeared headed for a loss, with the defense scuffling throughout the game, giving up big runs outside and inside the tackles, struggling to finish plays, and allowing the Ravens to score quickly and often. But Allen helped the Bills stay within reach with an MVP-like performance, highlighted by his 11th game-winning drive since 2022 (including playoffs). Only Patrick Mahomes (18th) and Geno Smith (12) have more in that. Of course, Allen's four-touchdown output also satisfied fantasy investors. |

Buffalo Bills CB Tre'Davious White (groin) did not participate in practice Friday, Sept. 5, and is listed as doubtful for Week 1. CB Christian Benford (groin), WR Keon Coleman (groin), WR Elijah Moore (non-injury) and WR Khalil Shakir (ankle) fully participated in practice and are not on the injury report.

Buffalo Bills WR Khalil Shakir (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 5, and is not on the injury report for Week 1.
Footballguys view: This is a great sign that Shakir is over his high ankle sprain, which cost him almost all of training camp and the preseason. That injury is notorious for risk of aggravation, so this helps us feel safer putting Shakir in as a WR3/Flex. This also helps Josh Allen a lot against a tough Ravens offense, as Shakir is his most trusted target. |
Buffalo Bills WR Keon Coleman (groin) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 5, and is not on the injury report for Week 1.
Footballguys view: We can put the limited practice scare from Wednesday behind us now. Coleman is set up for a breakout year and the Bills will need him to come up big to keep up with the Ravens on Sunday. Consider him an upside WR3/Flex play. |
Buffalo Bills WR Keon Coleman (groin) told reporters on Friday, Sept. 5, he isn't concerned about playing against the Baltimore Ravens.

Buffalo Bills WR Khalil Shakir (ankle) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 4.
Link to storyBuffalo Bills WR Keon Coleman (groin) was spotted at practice on Thursday Sept. 4, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reported. He was a limited participant on Wednesday.
Footballguys view: Good news for the Bills here. The big-bodied, second-year pro can be a red-zone threat for QB Josh Allen. We love Coleman in dynasty, and in Week 1 we like him as a 'what the heck' flex. |
Buffalo Bills DT DeWayne Carter (Achilles) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Thursday, Sept. 4.
Link to storyFree-agent PK Matt Prater (Cardinals) was signed to the Buffalo Bills' practice squad Thursday, Sept. 4.
Footballguys view: Keep an eye on this situation as Prater could be called up for Week 1 against the Ravens. Bills K Tyler Bass is dealing with a groin injury that could keep him out of action. Last year, Prater was perfect (6-for-6) for the Cardinals before missing the rest of the season with a torn meniscus. |

Buffalo Bills DE Joey Bosa has received occasional rest days, along with practice days off during training camp, as the team works to preserve his health. He has had a propensity for injury throughout his NFL career.
Footballguys view: The team plans to use him opposite DE Gregory Rousseau when the regular season starts, and the goal is to potentially limit his reps in season at times, preserving him for the postseason. He might be a 60-percent snap player in the regular season. |
Joey Bosa player page
Buffalo Bills TE Dalton Kincaid played 66 percent of the team's offensive snaps in 2024, when healthy. Beat writer Joe Buscaglia suggests, based on training camp workloads, that Kincaid's role is unlikely to grow more than that in 2025, especially since TE Dawson Knox is viewed as a more superior blocker in the run game, as is rookie TE Jackson Hawes.
Footballguys view: Kincaid is a talented TE2 with upside. QB Josh Allen is going to spread the ball around, but Kincaid should continue to be involved enough for Fantasy GMs to see him as a TE2 with upside. |

Buffalo Bills WR Khalil Shakir (ankle) suffered a high-ankle sprain in practice Aug. 1, but he returned to practice in the past week, and appears to be in good shape to play in the Week 1 game against the Baltimore Ravens. In fact, he could see his full role of 70-plus percent of offensive snaps.
Footballguys view: Shakir is a favorite of QB Josh Allen who can regularly help move the chains. A high-ankle sprain can linger, but it's been about a month of recovery time since he was initially injured. We like him as a WR4/deep flex play in PPR leagues. |
Buffalo Bills WR Keon Coleman reportedly made huge strides in training camp and the preseason, QB Josh Allen reportedly loves throwing to him, according to beat writer Joe Buscaglia, and the team is excited about his progress heading into the regular season.
Footballguys view: We're excited about Coleman entering his second season. Coleman has a big body and can create space by boxing out smaller defenders. From a fantasy perspective, Coleman is a WR4/deep flex play with upside to be a regular in your lineup. |
Buffalo Bills CB Christian Benford (undisclosed), the team's top cornerback, hasn't practiced since Aug. 21 due to an undisclosed injury. He was seen doing work on the side with the strength and conditioning staff Tuesday, Sept. 2, however. His status for Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens.
Link to storyFree-agent WR Gabe Davis (Jaguars) signed with the Buffalo Bills' practice squad Tuesday, Sept. 2. He'll begin on the practice squad as he recovers from a torn meniscus last season.
Footballguys view: Davis, a Bills fourth-round pick in 2020, spent his first four seasons with the franchise. But after what seemed like a breakout performance against the Chiefs in the 2021 postseason with four touchdowns, Davis failed to hit stride over the next two seasons. The Jaguars signed Davis to a three-year contract in free agency in 2024, but he was released in early May. He had 20 receptions for 239 yards with two TDs in 10 games last year. While he's reportedly still recovering from the knee injury, Davis may be able to help the offense at some point in 2025. |
