Philadelphia Eagles WR John Metchie and a 2027 sixth-round pick were traded to the New York Jets on Wednesday, Oct. 29, in exchange for CB Michael Carter II and a 2027 seventh-round pick.
Link to storyUpdating previous reports, Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley (groin) likely could have returned to the game if it were closer, according to sources. The injury isn't believed to be serious.
Footballguys view: Again, this falls into line with Barkley's post-game comments, and it was also the Eagles' official company line. Per the team, he could have returned to the game if needed. He wasn't. But, as Profootballtalk.com noted his morning, Barkley will be needed in 15 days, when the Eagles visit the Packers. The bye week will give Barkley plenty of time to get back up to full speed. Barkley had his best game of the season against the Giants. He rushed for 150 yards with a touchdown on just 14 carries. He caught four passes for 24 yards and a touchdown.
Saquon Barkley player page
Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley did not play in the final quarter of Sunday's win over the Giants because of a groin injury he sustained on a 28-yard run at the end of the third quarter. Barkley indicated he might have played down the stretch if the score was closer, however, and didn't express any concern about being ready for the Packers game in Week 10 following the team's bye.
Footballguys view: Profootballtalk.com's Mike Florio reported the same during a Sunday Night Football pre-game appearance. Barkley had a breakout performance against his former team Sunday, rushing for 150 yards and a touchdown to pace the Eagles in their 38-20 win over the New York Giants. We'll continue to monitor throughout the Eagles' off week, with more definitive information likely to come when the team begins preparing for Week 10.

Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert caught three passes for 28 yards and two touchdowns against the New York Giants in Week 8. He was targeted three times during the game.
Footballguys view: Goedert didn't score for the first time in five games last week, so he made up for it by scoring twice in Week 8. Targeting Goedert at the goal line has been working, so there's no reason to expect it to change after the bye. Goedert is a solid TE1 and clear hit as part of a "wait on tight end" draft strategy.

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jahan Dotson caught one pass for 40 yards and one touchdown against the New York Giants in Week 8. He was targeted two times during the game.
Link to storyPhiladelphia Eagles WR DeVonta Smith caught six passes for 84 yards against the New York Giants in Week 8. He was targeted nine times during the game.
Footballguys view: Smith was effective as the #1 target with running mate AJ Brown sitting because of a hamstring injury, but this was at the bottom end of his range of expectations after the Eagles deep passing game came in red hot. It has been a rollercoaster ride, but going into the bye Smith is situated as the fantasy WR2/WR3 you drafted him to be.
DeVonta Smith player page
Philadelphia Eagles RB Tank Bigsby rushed for 104 yards on nine carries against the New York Giants in Week 8.
Footballguys view: Bigsby was the primary replacement for Saquon Barkley after Barkley left with a groin injury, but he was impressing before the injury. The Eagles are going into the bye, so we might not know much about Barkley's Week 10 status by the time waivers run this week. Bigsby is worth an add if bench size allows, and Barkley teams should make him a priority.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley (groin) rushed for 150 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries against the New York Giants in Week 8 before leaving the game because of a groin injury. He also caught four passes for 24 yards and one touchdown during the game.
Footballguys view: The injury looked like a minor nick or bump and Barkley will have his bye next week. Before the injury, Barkley's 65-yard score looked just like the 2024 Barkley that won championships for us. Tank Bigsby also ran hot, going over 100 yards on only nine carries. He's the pickup if you want Barkley injury insurance or if you're willing to hold a speculative value backup running back through their bye.

Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts went 15-for-20 for 179 yards and four touchdowns against the New York Giants in Week 8. He also rushed for 22 yards on four carries during the game.
Footballguys view: Hurts had no problem passing successfully against a Giants defense that frustrated him on the road two weeks ago. The highly efficient game came without AJ Brown on the field, which is reassuring. Hurts fantasy value has been durable as the Eagles offense has gone through some ups and downs, and they both go into the bye on a high note.

Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (calf) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 24, and is not on the injury report for Week 8.
Footballguys view: Goedert is the TE4 in fantasy scoring and TE4 in Week 8 rankings. He's a plug-and-play TE1 this week, especially with A.J. Brown out.

Philadelphia Eagles WR A.J. Brown (hamstring) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 24, and has been ruled out for Week 8.
Footballguys view: With the Eagles on bye after this week, Brown will get some extra time to allow his hamstring to heal up. He dealt with a hamstring injury this preseason, raising concerns about its severity. We'll hope for more information going into Week 10. Expect Dallas Goedert, who has been a reliable target this year, to get a bump in usage in this matchup against the Giants.

Link to storyPhiladelphia Eagles WR A.J. Brown (hamstring) did not practice on Thursday, Oct. 23. It was his second straight day of practice missed.
Footballguys view: The Eagles have a bye in Week 9, so perhaps they choose to shut down Brown for this game against the Giants. They lost to the Giants in Week 6, so playing them again just two weeks later is...interesting. The Eagles have their eyes on defending their championship, and that means a different focus on the long-term. Stay tuned for his Friday status.

Updating previous reports, Philadelphia Eagles DE Brandon Graham received a one-year contract worth a prorated value of $4,895,500. That pays him $2.44M for a little more than half the season, including a signing bonus of $1,677,500.

Philadelphia Eagles TE Jaheim Bell was released from the team's practice squad on Tuesday, Oct. 21.
Link to storyFormer Philadelphia Eagles DE Brandon Graham will come out of retirement and sign with the Eagles this week, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Graham indicated he would have a special announcement on Tuesday, Oct. 21.
Footballguys view: Graham, who was the longest-tenured player in franchise history, will suit up for his 16th season. The move comes on the heels of Za'Darius Smith's sudden retirement last week. Smith led a depleted edge group with 1.5 sacks. The Eagles came into the season with questions at edge rusher after the departures of Graham and Josh Sweat. The position took another hit when Nolan Smith Jr. was put on injured reserve last month because of a triceps injury. Ogbo Okoronkwo was also placed on IR because of a triceps injury after Philadelphia's Week 4 game. So Graham fills a need.

Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert caught three passes for 18 yards against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 7. He was targeted three times during the game.
Footballguys view: For the first time in five games, Goedert did not score. He was a fantasy letdown, but the good news is that Jalen Hurts threw for over 300 yards in a game that should encourage offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo to call more vertical passes going forward.
Dallas Goedert player page
Philadelphia Eagles WR A.J. Brown caught four passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 7. He was targeted six times during the game.
Footballguys view: This should be an elixir for the malaise Brown has been experiencing in the low pass volume Eagles offense. Not that the team filled the air with footballs - throwing only 23 times - but Jalen Hurts aired it out frequently to Brown on vertical routes, and he came through again and again for the Eagles and for fantasy teams - including the game-winning score on a fourth down play. The buy low window is closed heading into a rematch with the Giants of an embarrassing 35-17 road loss in Week 6.
A.J. Brown player page
Philadelphia Eagles WR DeVonta Smith caught nine passes for 183 yards and one touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 7. He was targeted 11 times during the game.
Footballguys view: Smith, who left the game briefly with what appeared to be a leg injury, was finding room in the Vikings secondary all day, and put the cherry on the fantasy sundae with a 79-yard touchdown in the second half. He has been a letdown for fantasy going into Week 7, like the rest of the Eagles passing game, but this is a great sign that his value should grow in the second half of the season.
DeVonta Smith player page
Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley rushed for 44 yards on 18 carries against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 7.
Footballguys view: Barkley seemed to get shaken up at one point in the game, possibly a shoulder issue, and otherwise couldn't find room to run against the Vikings. He has been one of the more disappointing players of the first round of fantasy drafts, but the Eagles vertical passing game came to life in a good sign for the viability of the offense and touchdown opportunities to come for Barkley. Next, he'll face his old Giants team for the second time in three weeks.
Saquon Barkley player page
Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts went 19-for-23 for 326 yards and three touchdowns against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 7.
Footballguys view: For the second time this season Hurts showed that he can be a very dangerous downfield passer, but this time it came with the team in the lead in a good sign for offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo's sense of when and how to attack. Hurts didn't do much as a runner, but it didn't matter for fantasy because he got his sensational wide receiver duo involved with numerous deep shots. Hurts looks like a different quarterback than he did two weeks ago against his Week 8 opponent, the Giants.
