Several unidentified NFL clubs expressed interest in trading for Philadelphia Eagles WR A.J. Brown during the offseason but general manager Howie Roseman told teams that Brown was not available, according to The Athletic's Dianna Russini.
Footballguys view: It makes sense given the talent that Brown has. Roseman is one of the best in the league, and boy does he love to trade, but moving on from Brown at this time makes little sense. Not using him enough (like in Week 1) doesn't make sense either, so Fantasy GMs are hopeful Brown will do more than the one target, one reception for eight yards stat line he had in the opener. |

Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (knee) has been ruled out for Week 2's game versus the Kansas City Chiefs.
Footballguys view: No surprise here. Goedert didn't practice all week and is not going to play in the Super Bowl rematch against the Chiefs. Grant Calcaterra and Kylen Granson will split up the tight end duties. Without Goedert on the field, WRs AJ Brown and Devonta Smith should get more looks. |

Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (knee), RB Will Shipley (oblique), and OT Cameron Williams (shoulder) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs. QB Tanner McKee (thumb) was limited in practice on Friday, Sept. 12, and is listed as questionable. G Landon Dickerson (back) and DL Jalyx Hunt (hip) practiced in full on Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.

Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (knee) is out of practice Friday, Sept. 12, and is likely doubtful for Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Footballguys view: #3 receiver Jahan Dotson, who had the biggest play in the passing game for the Eagles in Week 1, could play a larger role this week. Grant Calcaterra is backing up Goedert, and can replace some of his presence in the passing game, but Calcaterra is a subpar blocker and can't provide the same kind of presence as Goedert in helping the whole offense go. |

Link to storyPhiladelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (knee), QB Tanner McKee (thumb) and RB Will Shipley (oblique) did not participate in practice Thursday, Sept. 11. Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (knee) missed practice on Thursday, Sept. 11.
Footballguys view: It's not looking good for Goedert this week as the Eagles prepare for the Chiefs. If he can't play, the Eagles will just get more targets for AJ Brown and Devonta Smith. |

Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 10.
Footballguys view: His status may be up in the air for the Super Bowl rematch against the Chiefs in Week 2. Goedert is always battling some injury, so Fantasy GMs should have already been prepared for this event. He may not miss Week 2 as this injury is not seen as a long-term issue. Stay tuned. |

Philadelphia Eagles DL Jalen Carter is being fined $57,222 for spitting on Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott. In the league memo regarding his punishment, they announced they are treating his early ejection as a one-game suspension.
Footballguys view: Carter is one of the Eagles' best players, and they need him to get on the field and stay on the field. He'll play for the first time this season in Sunday's Super Bowl rematch against the Chiefs. |

Philadelphia Eagles RB Will Shipley suffered a fractured rib against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1.
Footballguys view: Reporting in the immediate aftermath of the Eagles' trade for Jaguars RB Tank Bigsby suggested Shipley's injury wasn't a factor in making the move. But it's fair to wonder if a pair of picks in next year's draft isn't a high price for a kick returner. It's more reasonable to believe Philadelphia views Bigsby as a potential contributor behind Saquon Barkley. At the very least, it should amplify any concerns there may be about the injury suffered by Shipley. We'll continue to monitor. |
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Tank Bigsby was acquired by the Philadelphia Eagles Monday, Sept. 8, in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round draft choice and a 2026 sixth-round draft choice, according to sources.
Footballguys view: According to Brooks Kubena of The Athletic, the Bigsby trade is not related to Will Shipley's rib injury against the Cowboys last week. The Eagles like their running back room. They like Bigsby's effectiveness as a kickoff returner -- a role they've been exploring. While it's not ideal for our sunk costs in Bigsby, he'll be mired behind Shipley and perhaps A.J. Dillon until further notice. |

Philadelphia Eagles FB Ben VanSumeren (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list.
Link to storyPhiladelphia Eagles FB Ben VanSumeren (knee) suffered a torn patellar tendon during the Week 1 game and will miss the rest of the 2025 season, according to sources.
Link to storyFree-agent WR Javon Baker (Patriots) signed with the Philadelphia Eagles' practice squad, the team announced on Friday, Sept. 5.
Link to storyPhiladelphia Eagles OG Landon Dickerson (back) left the game in the fourth quarter Thursday, Sept. 4, and didn't return.
Footballguys view: Dickerson was listed as limited with a back issue going into the game, so consider this an aggravation of an existing injury. He also missed time in camp with a knee injury that was originally feared to be more than minor. Even with extra time to rest before the rematch with the Chiefs, he might not be ready for Week 2. The Eagles have good depth on the offensive line, but Dickerson is one of the best in the business, and they would miss him nonetheless. |
Philadelphia Eagles DT Jalen Carter's actions in the Week 1 game is being reviewed by the league for possible further punishment.

Philadelphia Eagles LB Zack Baun finished with nine tackles, including six solo stops and a tackle for loss, in a 24-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1.

Philadelphia Eagles WR A.J. Brown had an eight-yard reception on his only target during a 24-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1.
Footballguys view: Here's your Thursday night panic stat line. Brown wasn't getting open, although Jalen Hurts wasn't really looking to throw downfield anyway. Brown had hamstring issues last year, and again in camp, so maybe he's not trusting the hamstring fully yet. The Eagles do get three extra days before facing Kansas City, so if Brown doesn't look like his old self in Week 2, it will be time to bench him until he gets right, which is painful for a second round pick. |

Philadelphia Eagles WR DeVonta Smith caught all three of his targets for 16 yards in a 24-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1.
Footballguys view: The Eagles just didn't throw downfield in this game, so it was quiet for their wide receivers. That is a bit alarming since the Cowboys just traded away one of the best pass rushers in the game. It appears new offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo is going to just stay the course on the very run heavy approach the team had last year. |

Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert was targeted a team-high seven times, catching all seven and finishing with 44 yards in a 24-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1.
Footballguys view: Goedert didn't break any big plays, but it's still a great sign that he got so many targets in a game where the Eagles didn't go pass heavy. He's a consideration for Week 2 lineups in a Super Bowl rematch against the Chiefs. |

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jahan Dotson caught all three of his targets for a team-high 59 yards in a 24-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1.
Link to storyPhiladelphia Eagles RB Will Shipley rushed three times for 26 yards in a 24-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1.
Footballguys view: Shipley looked impressive and got more touches than expected early, and then left with a rib injury. He has 10 days to get right for the matchup with the Chiefs. If Shipley is going to miss time, he might be a drop in short bench leagues, but there's clearly some value there when he's healthy again. A.J. Dillon will back up Saquon Barkley if Shipley can't go next week. |
Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley rushed 18 times for 60 yards and a touchdown and caught four passes for 24 yards in a 24-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1.

Philadelphia Eagles WR A.J. Brown (hamstring) fully participated in practice Monday, Sept. 1, and is not on the injury report for Week 1.
Footballguys view: Remember, Brown has already confirmed he plans to play against the Cowboys Thursday night. Assuming he isn't added to the injury report today or Wednesday, it seems fantasy investors can roll Brown out without concern. We'll continue watching for more. |

Philadelphia Eagles WR A.J. Brown (hamstring) said Sunday, Aug. 31, that he is playing in the Week 1 regular-season opener against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, Sept. 4.
Footballguys view: Brown missed three games last season with a hamstring issue. After he missed time in August with a similar problem, there was speculation surrounding his health heading into the opener. When asked whether he was healthy and ready to go, he would give a promising two-word update: "Hell yeah!" As USA Today noted, Brown is considered the Eagles' number one receiver on the depth chart, but if any absence occurs, Philadelphia has another star wide receiver in Devonta Smith. Still, having both on the field will be important heading into Thursday night's game against the Cowboys. |

Philadelphia Eagles QB Tanner McKee (thumb) said Sunday, Aug. 31, that he fractured his thumb hitting a helmet while throwing. He did not practice Sunday, and he would not say much about his availability for the Week 1 game against the Philadelphia Eagles Thursday, Sept. 4. If he cannot go, QB Sam Howell would be the primary backup to starter QB Jalen Hurts.
