Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence is the most likely candidate for the Jacksonville Jaguars with the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, according to Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer.
Footballguys view: Zero surprise here. Lawrence is a generational talent at the quarterback position. He sees the entire field and does a good job of anticipating where to go with the football. Lawrence does not shy away from pressure and does a good job of keeping his eyes downfield when the heat is on. He could be a great one in the pros, and Meyer should be thrilled to get him. |

Jacksonville Jaguars RB James Robinson could 'take a step forward from where he was a year ago,' general manager Trent Baalke said.
Footballguys view: Robinson is going to get a large workload and could see better boxes from the defense as he'll have a legit quarterback under center. Jacksonville should take QB Trevor Lawrence (Clemson) with the no.1 overall pick and the rookie is a generational talent. A better passing game will mean lighter boxes for Robinson which could lead to more production. What he did as a rookie in 2020 is just the tip of the iceberg and Robinson is a RB1 who should be a late first-round pick or early second-round pick in fantasy drafts (current ADP is 2.04 in 12-team PPR leagues). |

Free-agent S Josh Jones (Jaguars) agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars Friday, March 26. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Jones played 700 snaps at safety for the Jaguars last year. Rayshawn Jenkins was signed to a big deal and will be ahead of Jones on the depth chart, but he could still figure into the safety group on passing downs. |

Updating previous reports, Jacksonville Jaguars QB C.J. Beathard was guaranteed $2.75 million, which is an indication he'll be on the roster in 2021.
Footballguys view: Beathard is going to be a reserve quarterback behind likely no.1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence. It seems like only a matter of time before Garnder Minshew is dealt away to a team in need of quarterback help. |

Free-agent QB C.J. Beathard (49ers) is expected to sign with the Jacksonville Jaguars soon, according to a source.
Footballguys view: Beathard gives the team depth and starting experience. There are plenty who believe the Jaguars will trade away Gardner Minshew and then select Trevor Lawrence (Clemson) with the no.1 overall pick. We'll see if Minshew is actually dealt away in the near future. |

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Gardner Minshew is not under consideration to be traded at this point, even though multiple NFL clubs have contacted the team about his availability, according to head coach Urban Meyer.
Footballguys view: The Jaguars have the no.1 overall pick and that should be QB Trevor Lawrence from Clemson. That means Minshew is expendable as the team moves forward with a new potential franchise quarterback. Minshew has started enough games and flashed enough to get interest from teams like the Broncos who need or want a quarterback competition. They're not looking to deal Minshew, but that could change at a moment's notice. |

Detroit Lions impending free-agent WR Marvin Jones plans to sign a two-year contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars worth $14.5 million, according to a source. The deal will include $9.2 million in guaranteed money.
Footballguys view: The Jaguars get a top receiver on the market here. Jones will work on the outside to take the top off the defense. He'll work with D.J. Chark and Laviska Shenault to give the Jaguars a nice trio of wide receivers at the top of the depth chart. |

Impending free-agent TE Hunter Henry (Chargers) is a player the Jacksonville Jaguars should 'be aggressive in pursuing' this offseason, according to ESPN's Michael DiRocco.
Footballguys view: The Jaguars need help at the tight end position. With $100 million in cap space, they should be able to command the market for any player they want. Add in the no.1 overall pick, which should be Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence, and you can see how the Jaguars will all of a sudden become an even more interesting and fantasy relevant offense. |
