Texans | J.J. Watt feeling rejuvenated     Sat Aug 8, 02:14 PM

Houston Texans DE J.J. Watt says he's feeling the best he has in five years as he's been focusing on working out and nutrition during the offseason. 'My body feels as good as it's felt since probably 2014, 2015 somewhere around there,' Watt said, via the Texans' website. 'So I'm really looking forward to getting into camp and just getting to work. ... I would say that the quarantine situation has given me literally nothing to do but work out every day. I mean, there's nothing else you can do. You can't go out. You can't go to the movies. You can't go out to eat. So the workout program for me this offseason has been awesome because I've had a full offseason to do my workouts exactly how I need to do them.'

Eagles | Vinny Curry back with Philly    Fri Aug 7, 01:18 PM

Free agent DE Vinny Curry is re-signing with the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday, Aug. 7, according to sources.

Footballguys view: Curry will be a cheap source of quality snaps in the defensive line rotation who is very familiar with the coaches, scheme, and his teammates. Teams may be reluctant to spend on remaining free agents with a lower cap coming next year, so players like Curry will be inexpensive.

Free agent DL Dion Jordan (Raiders) on Friday, Aug, 7, signed a one-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers, the team announced. Terms of the deal were not available.

Footballguys view: Jordan was a top three pick by Miami but has never come close to his ceiling, dealing with suspensions and underachievement. The 49ers have a formidable rotation on the defensive line that will be tough for Jordan to break into.

Seahawks | SEA eyeing LBs    Thu Aug 6, 12:36 PM

Free-agent LB Clay Matthews (Rams) and LB Everson Griffen (Vikings) have received interest from the Seattle Seahawks.

Footballguys view: The two have a history with Seahawks coach Pete Carroll from their days together at USC. Seattle has been thinking about bringing back LB Jadeveon Clowney but his asking price might be too rich. Griffen has reportedly been getting interest from the Packers for some time but no deal has yet to materialize. Matthews hasn't gotten much interest on the open market but that could change with camps opening up around the league.

Footballguys view: The strong get stronger if/when this deal happens. The 49ers traded away DE DeForest Buckner to the Colts for a first-round pick and now may add a talent to the pass rush. Ansah only played in 11 games last year for Seattle and only had 2.5 sacks.

Footballguys view: When healthy, Bosa is among the best pass-rushers in the league. He can win with strength, speed and a non-stop motor throughout the game. Bosa is a cornerstone piece of what the Chargers do on defense and that side of the ball could make them playoff contenders in 2020.

Free-agent DE Everson Griffen (Vikings) and the Green Bay Packers have mutual interest as Griffen narrows down his choices for 2020.

Footballguys view: The Packers interest is ...interesting to say the least due to the logjam of talent they have in the front seven of their defense. Griffen could end up back with the Vikings and earlier reports indicated the Cardinals might have interest as well. Entering his 11th season as a pro, Griffen is coming off an 8.0 sack season in 2019.
