Packers | Edgerrin Cooper becoming a force Sat Sep 13, 08:32 PM
Green Bay Packers LB Edgerrin Cooper has logged 10-plus tackles in four of his last five games dating back to last season, and he has recorded at least seven solo tackles in four of those contests.
Link to storyUpdating previous reports, Green Bay Packers WR Jayden Reed (collarbone) is expected to undergo surgery on his fractured collarbone next week, and the team is hoping he returns at some point in November.

Green Bay Packers LB Edgerrin Cooper had a team-high 10 tackles -- seven solo -- to go along with two quarterback hits, and a half sack against the Washington Commanders in Week 2.
Link to storyGreen Bay Packers WR Matthew Golden was targeted twice but did not have a reception against the Washington Commanders in Week 1. He did run the ball two times for 15 yards.
Footballguys view: Both targets could have been long touchdowns. Golden is a boom/bust play for sure, but Jordan Love has been very good on targets to other receivers, so it's likely he and Golden will get it ironed out, and some boom weeks will be coming. Keep the faith. |
Green Bay Packers WR Romeo Doubs had three receptions, 28 yards, and a touchdown versus the Washington Commanders in Week 2. He was targeted five times.
Footballguys view: Doubs touchdown came early in the game, but he did not see an uptick in targets when Jayden Reed went out. He was already on the field more than any other Packers receiver, so the Reed injury doesn't potentially add as much to his value as it does other targets in the Packers passing game. |
Green Bay Packers WR Dontayvion Wicks had four receptions (on six targets) for 44 yards against the Washington Commanders in Week 2.
Footballguys view: Wicks was the focus of the passing game during the first drive of the game and his hands were not a problem. He could see more snaps and targets while Jayden Reed is out, so he's worth looking at as a pickup next week in deeper leagues. |

Updating previous reports, Green Bay Packers WR Jayden Reed (shoulder) suffered a broken collarbone in Week 2 against the Washington Commanders, per head coach Matt LaFleur. Reed will miss 'significant time,' but the team believes he will return this season.
Footballguys view: Most estimates put the absence at at least 6-8 weeks. In addition to Week 2 star Tucker Kraft, third round pick Savion Williams also is at his best after the catch, so the Packers could use the rookie more with a few extra days to get him up to speed before they go to Cleveland next week. |

Green Bay Packers TE Tucker Kraft had six receptions, 124 yards, and a touchdown in the team's Week 2 victory over the Washington Commanders. Kraft was targeted seven times.
Footballguys view: Kraft broke free for a 57-yard gain early in the game and the Commanders still didn't seem like they could cover him all night. He could take on a more central role in the passing game with Jayden Reed out. After Week 2, there's no reason for Kraft to be on your bench when you set your lineup. |

Green Bay Packers WR Savion Williams ran the ball twice for 24 yards in a Week 2 matchup with the Washington Commanders.
Link to storyGreen Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs carried the ball 23 times for 84 yards and a touchdown against the Washington Commanders in Week 2. Jacobs was not targeted as a receiver.
Footballguys view: Jacobs has been mostly contained as a runner, and not that productive as a receiver, but you still have to feel good about his staying power because of the Packers defense's ability to keep them in run-heavy game scripts. The Packers were also missing two starting offensive linemen in a short week of rest. |

Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love connected on 19 of his 31 passing attempts for 292 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions in a 27-18 victory over the Washington Commanders. Love also ran three times for 12 yards.
Footballguys view: Love had one touchdown called back by a holding penalty (he also lost Jayden Reed for a good part of the season on the play after he broke his collarbone making the catch), and uncharacteristically missed an open Matthew Golden for a score on fourth down on a play that was delayed because Kingsley Enagbare ran on the field thinking the team would attempt a field goal. There was a bigger game there for Love in fantasy even though the Packers led comfortably in the second half against a 2024 playoff team for the second straight week. Love's fantasy value is growing, but the quality of the Packers defense and Josh Jacobs penchant for finishing drives could slightly cap Love's upside. In light of this result, we have to think the Giants offense is even worse than we thought because everything came so easy for the Packers in the passing game - even without Jayden Reed for a good part of the game. Love has his first true test of the season at Cleveland next week. |

Green Bay Packers WR Dontayvion Wicks (calf) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 10, but is not on the injury report for Week 2.
Footballguys view: The calf injury bothered Wicks last week, but he still managed a couple of catches. That's not great production for most Fantasy GMs, so consider him more of a 'what the heck' flex until he's healthier and produces at a higher level. |

Green Bay Packers WR Matthew Golden (ankle) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 10, and is not on the injury report for Week 2.
Footballguys view: He's good to go for Thursday night against the Commanders. With his speed and playmaking ability, we see the rookie receiver as a flex play with upside. |
Green Bay Packers WR Christian Watson (knee) was signed to a one-year, $13.25 million contract extension, keeping him in Green Bay through the 2026 season.
Footballguys view: Watson's contract was set to expire at the end of the 2025 season, and now the team can keep him around for one more year. He's currently on the PUP list as he recovers from a torn ACL suffered in Week 18 last season. When Watson returns, he'll try to work his way up in the pecking order on what is a jam-packed wide receiver room. |
Green Bay Packers OG Aaron Banks (ankle, groin) and OT Zach Tom (oblique) are considered a game-time decisions for the Week 2 game against the Washington Commanders on Thursday, Sept. 11, head coach Matt LaFleur said Tuesday.
Link to storyGreen Bay Packers DL Micah Parsons said Tuesday, Sept. 9 that he talked his way into more playing time in Week 1 against the Detroit Lions. He ended up playing 29 snaps, more than originally intended. 'I told (the defensive coaches) the other day when they were talking to me about the snap counts, it's like, 'Man, we could run gassers; we could be in practice and you give me these plays; we can run to the ball, but at the end of the day, you've got to let me push through some things,' Parsons said.
