Cincinnati Bengals OT Bobby Hart and C B.J. Finney are candidates to be released this offseason. The team would save around $5.9 million in salary cap space if they cut Hart and $3.5 million if Finney is released.

Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow (knee) told the team's website Tuesday, Jan. 12, that he intends to resume throwing in mid-February and begin running on an underwater treadmill shortly thereafter.
Footballguys view: It's a good sign for Burrow but he still has a long path ahead of him. He wants to be ready for the start of the 2021 regular season but that seems a bit too optimistic at this time. Burrow could miss a couple of games to start next season if his recovery is on time. If it's ahead of time, then we'll see him miss the preseason with an eye on starting the season opener. |

Cincinnati Bengals practice squad CB Trajan Bandy, QB Kevin Hogan and CB Torry McTyer had their contracts expire Monday, Jan. 11.

Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow (knee) said he believes that he will be ready for the start of the 2021 season.
Footballguys view: That's a pretty bold prediction. Burrow just had knee surgery - to repair his ACL and MCL - back in early December. That would put him on track to likely miss the season opener. We'll see how his recovery goes. It's nice that he has that goal date in mind, but the reality of coming back from this injury that soon is going to be tough. |

Cincinnati Bengals TE C.J. Uzomah (Achilles') posted video to his official social media account showing him running on a treadmill Wednesday, Jan. 6.

The Cincinnati Bengals will not retain offensive line coach Jim Turner, defensive line coach Nick Eason, defensive assistant Gerald Chatman and wide receivers coach Bob Bicknell, sources said Monday, Jan. 4. More coaching staff changes could be coming, too, as head coach Zac Taylor and the front office plan to evaluate the staff and roster in the coming days and weeks. Running backs coach Jemal Singleton is also leaving the team, taking a job as the University of Kentucky's RB coach.

Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor will remain as head coach in 2021.
Footballguys view: That sounds about right. Taylor gets another year with QB Joe Burrow and we'll see if the team can start fast and finish strong in the competitive AFC North. The Bengals have plenty of offensive talent like Burrow, RB Joe Mixon and WRs Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd. The team needs to build a better offensive line and continue to add talent on defense as well. |

Cincinnati Bengals QB Brandon Allen went 6-for-21 for 48 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 17. Green and Tee Higgins were held off the stat sheet.
Footballguys view: The Bengals will hope for Joe Burrow to be ready for Week 1 next year. They got a big win over the Steelers to build on after losing Burrow in Week 11. |

Cincinnati Bengals WR Tee Higgins (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury during the Week 17 game and is considered questionable to return.
Footballguys view: The injury cost Higgins a chance at a 1000 yard season, but he was still a big hit as a rookie and should be Joe Burrow's #1 receiver for a long time. |

Cincinnati Bengals WR Tyler Boyd (concussion) was limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 30.
Footballguys view: Boyd suffered a concussion in Week 15 and missed the game in Week 16. We'll see if he can get cleared to play in the season finale against the Ravens on Sunday. |
Tyler Boyd player page

Cincinnati Bengals WR Tee Higgins (hamstring) was limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 30.
Footballguys view: Higgins had six catches for 99 yards and a touchdown last week. That was against the Texans, and this week he'd be facing the Ravens...a much different matchup. Watch his status as the week goes on and consider Higgins a WR3/flex play. |

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (non-injury) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 30.
Footballguys view: Green is a seasoned veteran and gets Wednesdays off. We should see him play against the Ravens on Sunday in what could be his final game with the Bengals. |

Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon (foot) will not play in Week 17 against the Baltimore Ravens.
Footballguys view: The Bengals will turn to Gio Bernard and Samaje Perine against the Ravens in Week 17. That's a tough matchup, so Bernard is more of a RB2/flex option and Perine is more of a flex player. Mixon is set to be a free agent in 2021. He finished this season with 428 yards rushing and three rushing touchdowns in six games. |

Cincinnati Bengals WR Tee Higgins caught six passes for 99 yards and one touchdown against the Houston Texans in Week 16. He was targeted nine times during the game.
Footballguys view: Higgins was a hit for fantasy teams that depended on him. He got a boost in target share with Tyler Boyd sidelined by a concussion and his strong rookie year bodes very well for his future. |

Cincinnati Bengals RB Giovani Bernard rushed for 65 yards on 16 carries against the Houston Texans in Week 16. He also caught seven passes for 66 yards during the game.
Footballguys view: Bernard came through for anyone that trusted him after his strong Monday night performance even though he shared touches and snaps with Samaje Perine. Derrick Henry should stomp on the Texans next week while the Bengals face the much tougher Ravens defense. |
Giovani Bernard player page

Cincinnati Bengals RB Samaje Perine rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries against the Houston Texans in Week 16. He also caught four passes for 41 yards during the game.
Footballguys view: The Texans run defense was non existent in this one as Perine has shown that he deserves to be on an NFL roster after flashing out with Washington as a 2017 fourth round draft pick. |
Samaje Perine player page

Cincinnati Bengals QB Brandon Allen went 29-for-37 for 371 yards and two touchdowns against the Houston Texans in Week 16.
Footballguys view: Allen didn't all of the sudden become a quality NFL quarterback, this is just how poor the Texans defense is playing lately. The Titans offense should be massive next week against Houston, while Allen has made more of a case for himself to be a backup quarterback next year but will run into the Ravens next week. |
