Link to storyChicago Bears WR Luther Burden III (undisclosed) participated in practice Sunday, May 11, after suffering what appeared to be an undisclosed injury during practice Saturday, May 10.
Footballguys view: Good news for the Bears here. The undisclosed injury was not considered serious on Saturday, and here he is out there on Sunday. Burden is going to play the big slot role for Ben Johnson, something Amon-Ra St. Brown did to perfection under Johnson in the Lions' offense. |
Houston Texans OG LaDarius Henderson (foot) is making progress in his recovery and participated in the rookie minicamp since he missed the 2024 season, according to head coach DeMeco Ryans.

Undrafted free-agent OG Mekhi Butler (Arkansas State) is expected to reach an agreement with the New England Patriots after taking part in their rookie minicamp on a tryout basis, according to a source.
Link to storyCleveland Browns QB Dillon Gabriel said he loves that the Browns selected QB Shedeur Sanders in the 2025 NFL Draft because they can learn from each other.
Footballguys view: What else is he supposed to say? The Browns have an unsettled quarterback situation, with Gabriel, Sanders, Joe Flacco, and Kenny Pickett all set to establish a pecking order. The Sanders pick was much later than expected, and he may not get much of a chance to impress when all four quarterbacks are at minicamp later this spring. One or both of the rookies may be bound for third-string duties or a practice squad spot. |
Washington Commanders OT Anim Dankwah and S Trey Rucker were released Sunday, May 11.
Link to storyJonathan M. Alexander, from the Houston Chronicle, reports Houston Texans rookie WRs Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel will have opportunities "to carve out roles early on behind Nico Collins and Christian Kirk."
Footballguys view: We love the upside of both Higgins and Noel in dynasty formats, but there could be some more fantasy value mined this year with these college (and now pro) teammates. Higgins has the upside to be an outside threat, and his ball-tracking ability makes him a potential favorite deep target for QB CJ Stroud. Noel is likely directly behind Kirk, and he's kind of the slot-receiver-of-the-future. Kirk is not going to just be swept out of the way by this rookie duo, and the veteran has value as a potential PPR flex play in the Texans' offense. |

Josh Alper, from ProFootballTalk.com, reports Jacksonville Jaguars HC Liam Coen says no.2 overall pick WR/CB Travis Hunter will 'start to roll' on defense next week.
Footballguys view: Hunter is an amazing player with a ton of upside as a receiver in the Jagaurs offense. He began his rookie minicamp primarily on the offensive side of the ball, and Coen has previously said that the two-way Colorado superstar is going to mostly be on offense while getting some defensive work too. Hunter will play as large of a role as he possibly can on defense, and the preparation begins this week. |
Jordan Schultz, from Fox Sports, reports the Pittsburgh Steelers have signed RB Trey Sermon to a one-year contract. The veteran back was trying out with the Steelers this weekend during rookie minicamp.
Footballguys view: The Steelers add more talent to an already crowded backfield. Last year for the Colts, Sermon started three games and finished the 2024 season with just 159 yards rushing on 56 carries with two touchdowns. The Steelers selected Kaleb Johnson (Iowa) in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, and he's going to work in tandem with Jaylen Warren to hammer defenses. Behind those two, Cordarrelle Patterson and Kenneth Gainwell should get some looks. Sermon is a longshot to make the 53-man roster. |

Link to storyArizona Cardinals seventh-round pick LB Jordan Burch signed a four-year, $4,337,892 contract prior to the start of rookie minicamp. The deal includes a signing bonus of $137,892 and his salary cap charge is $874,473. His base salaries are $840,000 for 2025, $1.005 million for 2026, $1.12 million for 2027 and $1.235 million for 2028. Crawford has a full split for the first two seasons of his deal, meaning his salary would decrease to $490,000 in 2025 and $540,000 in 2026 if he is placed on the Reserve/Injured list.
Link to storyDenver Broncos RB RJ Harvey saw a lot of work in the passing game during rookie minicamp Saturday, May 10, and head coach Sean Payton said he liked what he saw out of Harvey. 'Well, he's going to play on third down,' Payton said. 'There's a lot we can do to suit his strengths.''
Footballguys view: Harvey was a standout during rookie minicamp over the weekend. His speed is apparent from the jump, and he can be dangerous in space. Harvey dances a bit too much at times on outside runs, but he shows discipline on inside carries where he can hide behind the line and then burst at the second level. The Broncos backfield is wide open, and Harvey is primed to be the lead back for Sean Payton...that alone should get Fantasy GMs attention come draft season. |
Arizona Cardinals fifth-round pick CB Denzel Burke signed a four-year, $4,520,216 contract prior to the start of rookie minicamp. The deal includes a signing bonus of $320,216 and his salary cap charge is $920,024.
Link to storyArizona Cardinals sixth-round pick OL Hayden Conner signed a four-year, $4,374,280 contract prior to the start of rookie minicamp. The deal includes a signing bonus of $174,280 and his salary cap charge is $883,570. His base salaries are $840,000 for 2025, $1.005 million for 2026, $1.12 million for 2027 and $1.235 million for 2028. Conner has a full split for the first two seasons of his deal, meaning his salary would decrease to $490,000 in 2025 and $540,000 in 2026 if he is placed on the Reserve/Injured list.
Link to storyArizona Cardinals seventh-round pick S Kitan Crawford signed a four-year, $4,337,892 contract prior to the start of rookie minicamp.
Link to storyFree-agent TE Tyler Davis (Packers) will not return to the team for the 2025 season, according to SI.com's Bill Huber. He missed the 2023 season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament and the 2024 season with a shoulder injury.
Footballguys view: A sixth-round pick of the Jaguars in the 2020 NFL Draft, Davis has spent the past few seasons with the Packers. At one point, Packers GM Brian Gutekunst said of Davis "we might have something here" but injuries have likely ended his pro career. Davis started one game during his career, and he has just eight catches for 61 yards. |

Undrafted free-agent LB Giovanni Williams (Mills) is participating in the New York Jets' rookie minicamp this weekend. He is the younger brother of Jets DT Quinnen Williams and Jets LB Quincy Williams.
Link to storyFree-agent DE Jadeveon Clowney (Panthers) said that he wants to continue his playing career, several days after being released by the Carolina Panthers. General manager Dan Morgan had tried to gauge trade interest in Clowney from other teams before and after the 2025 NFL Draft but was unable to finalize a deal. The Panthers had offered him a chance to remain with the organization if he agreed to take a pay cut but he declined. According to OverTheCap.com, Clowney's release frees up $7.8 million of salary cap space for Carolina, with $6 million of dead money.
Footballguys view: The Panthers released Clowney a few days ago can still make plays as a reserve rusher. Clowney compiled 5.5 sacks and knocked down four passes with the Panthers in 2024. At some point this offseason, and perhaps closer to training camp, Clowney should find a new team - perhaps on a contender this time. |

Chicago Bears WR Luther Burden III (undisclosed) left practice early Saturday, May 10, after suffering a possible injury.
Footballguys view: It's early, and this doesn't sound serious. Fantasy GMs and Bears fans are super excited because Burden should play the big slot role that Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown starred in under Ben Johnson. The former Lions OC and new Bears HC is going to have quite the group of weapons around QB Caleb Williams. |
Las Vegas Raiders sixth-round draft choice QB Cam Miller signed a four-year contract with the Raiders Thursday, May 8. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Cam Miller is a player with a ton of moxie to his game. Like most South Dakota State quarterbacks, Miller has experience running a pro scheme and is known as a leader on the field. He's a mobile pocket passer who has a bit of Sam Howell (Vikings) to his game. Miller can read the defense quickly, and he can efficiently work the ball on short-to-intermediate routes. He doesn't have a big arm, and NFL EDGE rushers could feast on his if he's slow to react to the rush. We'll monitor Miller in crazy deep dynasty formats. |
New Orleans Saints CB Quincy Riley (undisclosed) did not participate in rookie minicamp Saturday, May 10, because he is recovering from offseason surgery, according to head coach Kellen Moore.

Link to storyLas Vegas Raiders fourth-round draft choice WR Dont'e Thornton Jr. signed a four-year contract with the Raiders Friday, May 9. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: The Raiders opened their rookie minicamp on Friday when Thornton went through his first official NFL practice. The 6-5, 205-pound Thornton, who clocked a 4.3-second 40 time at the NFL Scouting Combine, led Tennessee with 661 yards and six touchdowns on just 26 receptions thanks to an FBS-best six catches of 50-plus yards. Thornton will likely be a project in Las Vegas, as the Raiders' coaching staff will have a development plan for the talented receiver. Thornton has flashed his potential but did so in limited playing time on the collegiate level. |
Houston Texans fourth-round draft choice RB Woody Marks signed a four-year contract with the Texans Saturday, May 10, worth $6 million, according to a source.
Footballguys view: Marks ran 198 times for 1,133 yards and nine touchdowns after transferring from Mississippi State to USC last year. He also caught 47 passes for 321 yards with the Trojans. Joe Mixon, Dare Ogunbowale, Dameon Pierce, J.J. Taylor, and Jawhar Jordan will join Marks in the backfield mix for the Texans. |
LB Dre Greenlaw, who suffered a quad injury in April, is "doing well" and expected to be a full participant in training camp, head coach Sean Payton told reporters.
Footballguys view: Multiple sources told NBC Sports Bay Area's Jennifer Lee Chan that Greenlaw suffered a torn quadriceps while working out. That initial report suggested the injury could force him to miss a portion of the upcoming 2025 NFL season. Recovery from a quadricep tear can range from several weeks to several months (if surgery is required). Based on Payton's comment, we'll land on the short end of that range. |

Link to storyPittsburgh Steelers fifth-round draft choice DT Yahya Black signed a four-year contract with the Steelers Friday, May 9. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Link to storyNew England Patriots RB TreVeyon Henderson (undisclosed) participated in practice Saturday, May 10, after missing practice Friday, May 9, because of an undisclosed reason.
Footballguys view: As USA Today's Danny Jaillet noted, there's hope that Henderson could either push Rhamondre Stevenson for the top running back job or serve as a strong complementary option. His explosive running style and pass-blocking abilities are two of his biggest assets. He has also shown exceptional receiving skills. Jaillet added the home-run potential is evident every time Henderson has the ball in his hands. So it'll fall on the Patriots to get him involved as much as possible on offense. We expect that to happen. Henderson is RB27 on the Footballguys 2025 Projections. Stevenson is RB38. |

Buffalo Bills DT Deone Walker (back) was limited during practice Friday, May 9, because he is dealing with a back injury.
Link to storyTennessee Titans fourth-round draft choice TE Gunnar Helm signed a four-year contract with the Titans Saturday, May 10. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Helm caught 19 passes at Texas over the 2022 and 2023 seasons but broke out with 60 receptions for 786 receiving yards and seven touchdowns during the 2024 campaign. Chig Okonkwo, Josh Whyle, David Martin-Robinson, and Thomas Odukoya are the other tight ends on the 90-man roster in Tennessee. |
Miami Dolphins LS Kneeland Hibbett was waived Saturday, May 10.
Link to storyNew Orleans Saints QBs Tyler Shough, Spencer Rattler, and Jake Haener will compete for the starting quarterback job, head coach Kellen Moore said Saturday, May 10, following the retirement of QB Derek Carr.
Footballguys view: "We're going to let all three of these guys roll," Moore told reporters on Saturday, "and they've all earned these opportunities. We'll let Jake, Spencer, and Tyler -- all three kind of go through this process." Moore expressed confidence that, once the preseason starts, "one of these guys will rise" to the starting job. Moore said Shough did an "excellent" job in his first taste of the NFL, which consisted of a pair of seven-on-seven sessions that were "somewhat competitive" in the team's rookie minicamp. Shough and the other rookies will join the veterans in the ongoing offseason program on Monday. Asked about the possibility of adding a veteran quarterback, Moore said they'll have an "awareness" of it and be ready to add another quarterback if the opportunity presents itself. Meanwhile, Shough remains our favorite to win the job. He's QB31 on the Footballguys 2025 Projections. |

Baltimore Ravens WR Rashod Bateman received trade interest from the Dallas Cowboys before the Cowboys acquired WR George Pickens, according to sources.
Footballguys view: Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports the Cowboys discussions with Baltimore went nowhere, forcing the Cowboys to pivot to another AFC team in Pittsburgh. The deal was made, the Steelers were weakened, and Baltimore hung onto an ever-improving player. In a 28-25 win over Dallas last September, Bateman had three catches for 28 yards (9.3 avg) and one touchdown. It was his most impactful regular season since getting drafted by Baltimore, with career highs in receiving yards (756) and touchdowns (nine) on the second-highest catch total of his career (45) across 17 games. Bateman is a solid fantasy WR4 or WR5 that's capable of helping investors cover bye week or injury-related absences. |

Dallas Cowboys RB Jaydon Blue should be able to play early as a third-down back, according to ESPN's Matt Miller.
Footballguys view: Miller noted that Blue may be a fifth-round pick, but Dallas lacks a home run threat and strong receiving back. In the College Football Playoffs, Blue showed how impactful he can be when matched up against linebackers and safeties as a route runner. With Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders available to handle early-down, between-the-tackles work, it'll be worth watching Blue to see if he can make good on Miller's expectations. |
Chicago Bears TE Colston Loveland is 'going to catch a million balls,' according to an NFL executive. 'He will be better than Sam LaPorta,' the executive said.
Footballguys view: The 6-5, 245-pound Loveland, who had 56 receptions, including five for TDs, at Michigan last season, is viewed as a key to unlocking the potential of new coach Ben Johnson's offense -- the same offense that helped Sam LaPorta thrive as a rookie when he caught 86 passes and 10 touchdowns in 2023. LaPorta finished as fantasy's TE1 that season. While Loveland sits at TE18 on the Footballguys 2025 Projections, we'll all look for signs that he might play a role in Chicago similar to LaPorta's in Detroit. |
