Giants | Tyrone Tracy has goal for 2025 Fri Jun 27, 04:09 PM
New York Giants RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. said he is hoping to rush for 1,500 yards this upcoming season.
Footballguys view: Tracy will have to hold onto the ball after fumble problems derailed an otherwise very successful rookie year that saw Tracy overtake Devin Singletary in the Giants backfield. The team drafted Cam Skattebo in the fourth round, who could be a strong alternative if Tracy has another bout of fumblitis. Skattebo has had fumble issues of his own in college, so there's a wide range of outcomes of how this backfield will shake out. The relatively low current ADP of both Tracy and Skattebo in the 8th-9th round range accurately reflects the uncertainty. |
San Francisco 49ers WR Isaiah Neyor - an undrafted free agent this spring - has caught the eye of teammate George Kittle with his freakish athleticism, according to comments he made recently on the 'Bussin' With The Boys' podcast.'I like him. He's a freak. ... I watched him, he was running a route and he got like 9 1/2 yards in two strides. ... It was insane. We watched it like 10 times in the tight end room. We were like 'How is he doing this?'' Kittle said.
Footballguys view: Neyor went undrafted, but he has the size/speed/athleticism of a starting NFL wide receiver. He's only of interest right now in deep dynasty leagues, but if he makes the 53 man roster out of training camp, it will be time to put Neyor on our radar in all dynasty leagues. |
Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray anticipates running more often than he has in recent seasons in 2025, according to Johnny Venerable of the PHNX Cardinals podcast.'(Kyler Murray) told us on our show a month ago ... He wants to run more, will run more this year. Take that for what it's worth. ... I think his numbers will be closer to that 2020 season - both passing and rushing. I don't know if he'll ever get back to those rushing yards (819), but a good year for Kyler on the ground (in 2025) would 500-plus yards and five-plus touchdowns,' Venerable said.
Footballguys view: Murray has said that his knee was bothering him at times last year even though it was almost two years removed from a 2022 ACL tear. He has been disappointing in fantasy leagues, but his ADP still reflects his previous demonstrated upside. A return to form as a runner would raise Murray's weekly ceiling and make his floor games and inconsistencies as a passer more tolerable. |

San Francisco 49ers CB Deommodore Lenoir was arrested in Los Angeles for obstruction of justice on Thursday, June 26. According to multiple reports, police approached a group of people and saw a gun in a parked car. When the driver was asked to his keys over, he threw the keys to Lenoir, who refused to allow the officers to have access to the car.
Footballguys view: While this is a minor incident and probably would not result in a significant suspension, it is still worth noting after the 49ers and Lenoir agreed on a five-year, $92 million deal this offseason. He's been a quality starter for them and will be their #1 corner after Charvarius Ward signed with Indianapolis this offseason. |

Seattle Seahawks TE Elijah Arroyo has a good chance to see a solid amount of playing time even if he is not the starter because the team likely will use multiple tight end sets a good amount of time, in the opinion of Seahawks.com's John Boyle.
Footballguys view: Arroyo is an athletic wonder, but inexperienced, so his impact could be limited this year. He is a promising player to stash in dynasty leagues after the possibility was raised by new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak and head coach Mike MacDonald that Arroyo could even be part of the plan to replace DK Metcalf at the "X" outside wide receiver position as one of the few big-bodied passcatchers on the roster. |
Kansas City Chiefs first-round pick OT Josh Simmons was compared to future Hall of Fame OT Trent Williams by fellow Future Hall of Fame C Jason Kelce. 'I've watched a lot of these linemen coming out (of college) the last few years,' said Kelce, who was a six-time All-Pro center with Philly. 'This kid, I mean, he is the closest thing I've seen to like a Trent Williams... like that next level strength and athleticism. The only reason he fell to you guys is because of that injury.'
Footballguys view: Simmons was a perfect pick for the Chiefs. Some considered him the best offensive tackle in this year's class, but a torn patellar tendon in October dropped him down the board. Kansas City can be patient with his recovery after signing Jaylon Moore away from the 49ers in free agency. If the Chiefs get a long term starting left tackle at the 31st pick, it will be a coup and the kind of move that keeps the dynasty alive. |
New England Patriots QB Drake Maye's 'athleticism and big arm give him a high-end ceiling like that of Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence, who I think has better play in his future,' according to Pro Football Focus' John Kosko
Link to storyJacksonville Jaguars RB Travis Etienne is expected to remain the team's top running back, according to Demetrius Harvey of of Jacksonville.com.
Footballguys view: Harvey also wrote that we shouldn't be surprised if Etienne "takes a bit of a backseat as a rusher as the team's running game and his receiving ability evolve". There has been talk that Etienne will be used more in space, which suits his skillset and traits better than running between the tackles. Etienne plummeting out of the top 100 overall in the latest Footballguys ADP may be an overreaction, but if this is a committee that includes roles for Tank Bigbsy and fourth round pick Bhayshul Tuten, it's also possible that no Jaguars running back will be consistent this season. |

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels has been working with head coach Dan Quinn to make sure opposing defenses aren't able to key in on any of Daniels' tendencies.
Footballguys view: Daniels was hyperefficient as a passer last year, especially in the short passing game, so opposing defenses will probably try to force him to hold the ball longer, although he was also effective on extended plays. He can be even better year two, as his performance slumped when he was banged up for a multi-game stretch in the middle of the season. The team also added a top-notch left tackle in Laremy Tunsil and a quality run after catch veteran in Deebo Samuel. Daniels is going off of the board as QB3 after Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, per Footballguys ADP. |
Cleveland Browns RB Jerome Ford will be a 'nice complement' to RB Quinshon Judkins and RB Dylan Sampson, according to Dan Labbe of The Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Footballguys view: Ford took a pay cut to $1.75 million, about half of what he was originally due on the last year of his rookie contract after a performance-based escalator kicked in. That lower number is fully guaranteed, so Ford is very likely to make the team and have a change of pace and passing down role. He probably won't matter to us in redraft leagues unless Judkins goes down. |
Cleveland Browns RB Dylan Sampson worked as both a running back and a receiver during minicamp, according to running backs coach Duce Staley. 'Dylan is able to go play in the slot and also he's able to go and play on third down and maybe sprinkle in a little second down,' Staley said.
Footballguys view: The Browns have Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong returning from last year's team, but Sampson could have more to offer the offense if he shows he is ready for passing down responsibilities. He's a true change of pace from the presumed starter Quinshon Judkins, who was taken with the 36th pick in April. Sampson probably doesn't have much value in redraft leagues this year, but if he can get on the field ahead of Ford and Strong, it will be a great sign for his lasting value in dynasty leagues. |
Seattle Seahawks WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling appears to be the leading candidate for the No. 3 wide receiver job entering training camp but may be push for the job by WRs Jake Bobo and Tory Horton during camp, in the opinion of Seahawks.com's John Boyle.
Footballguys view: Valdes-Scantling had a brief revival in New Orleans last year as the primary deep threat after Rashid Shaheed went down. He got $3 million guaranteed on a one-year deal from the Seahawks, so they clearly see a role for him, but he'll have to hold off the third-year UDFA Bobo and this year's fifth round pick Horton. Valdes-Scantling is only of interest in very deep best ball and dynasty leagues, but he could help the offense function better if he forces opposing defenses to account for his long speed. |

New Orleans Saints QB Tyler Shough said he does not think things will affect him much during his rookie season because of the various things he had to deal with during his college career.
Footballguys view: Shough played so long in college football that he tossed passes to Saints teammate TE Juwan Johnson at Oregon (and Johnson is entering year 5 of his NFL career). In addition to the Ducks, Shough also played at Texas Tech and finished his career at Louisville. After seven years in college, Shough only got 32 starts...mainly due to transferring and injuries. He's competing for the starting job in New Orleans, and with only Spencer Rattler (and Jake Haener) to beat out, he might be the favorite to win the job. |
Free-agent QB Dresser Winn (UFL) is expected to sign with the Los Angeles Rams.
Footballguys view: This is Winn's third stint with the Rams. An undrafted free agent for the Rams out of UT Martin in 2022, Winn had to go to Canada (Edmonton Elks) and the UFL (Memphis Showboats) to get on the field. In between playing in the CFL and the UFL, Winn has been with the Rams. |
Free-agent PK Justin Tucker (Ravens) was suspended by the NFL for the first 10 games of the 2025 season for violating the league's personal conduct policy on Thursday, June 26.
Footballguys view: There were 16 massage therapists that accused Tucker of sexual misconduct, and the Ravens let their long-time kicker go back in May. The NFL investigated this situation for months, and they've decided to suspend him for over half the 2025 season. There is a chance some team adds him before training camp where Tucker could get work in the preseason. He will be eligible for reinstatement on Tuesday, November 11th. |

New York Jets TE Mason Taylor flashed his potential as a pass-catcher during organized team activities, but head coach Aaron Glenn was more impressed with his blocking.'I think he's been doing an outstanding job in that aspect. And it's not just the pass catching, because that's what you guys see, that's what you guys really think is an a-ha moment, but the blocking is what really gets me going,' Glenn recently told the team's website.
Footballguys view: It's not sexy, but being a great blocker is what can get Taylor on the field more often as a rookie. His skill as a pass-catcher is already known from his college tape, and Taylor should be used effectively in that role catching passes from QB Justin Fields. He's a TE2 as a rookie, but those who stream tight ends can look to Taylor for depth. |
Baltimore Ravens WR Devontez Walker has a 'chance to be really good,' according to head coach John Harbaugh.'Every day, all he does is show up and go 100 miles an hour. He's got a chance to be really good,' Harbaugh told the team's website.
Footballguys view: We appreciate Walker in dynasty formats..and for good reason. A fourth-round pick out of North Carolina in the 2024 NFL Draft, Walker didn't do much as a rookie for the Ravens. He had only one catch, but it was for a 21-yard touchdown against the Giants. This offseason, reports indicate Walker has been working on learning the playbook to play with more confidence. The ball skills and body control are there for Walker to be a reliable target. We'll see him compete for a roster spot behind Rashod Bateman, DeAndre Hopkins, and Zay Flowers. |
Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles and general manager Jason Licht signed multi-year contract extensions Thursday, June 26, according to sources. Bowles enters his fourth year as the Bucs' head coach after leading the team to three consecutive NFC South titles from 2022-24. Licht is the NFL's fifth-longest tenured traditional general manager, entering his 12th season as the team's GM.
Footballguys view: Bowles has a 27-24 record over the last three seasons, each time with a postseason run attached. The Buccaneers have won the NFC South each season, but they've yet to make a deep playoff run. Licht has done some solid work in the draft and free agency since they won a Super Bowl with Tom Brady. Now, with Baker Mayfield at quarterback, expect them to be division champs again with designs on making it at least to the Divisional Round. |
Green Bay Packers WR Matthew Golden was immediately impressive during minicamp, according to QB Jordan Love. 'I think from the get-go, from day one when he got here, he's showcased kind of just the versatility he has running routes, the speed he has and his ability to catch,' Love said
Footballguys view: Golden has a ton of speed, and he can be a blur on the field. That's one of the many reasons why the Packers broke a 23-year streak of not taking a wide receiver in the first round and picked Golden with the no.23 overall pick. Earning Love's trust early is great for his career start. We like the rookie speedster as a deep flex or 'what the heck' flex for Fantasy GMs in 2025. |
Tennessee Titans QB Cam Ward 'didn't shy away from throws' during minicamp, according to head coach Brian Callahan.
Footballguys view: It's not in Ward's DNA to be scared of anything on the football field. He's a fearless passer and will attack downfield in coverage. That's a fine asset and a double-edged sword for the rookie. Ward and the Titans have arguably the best defense in the league (Broncos) as their opponent in Week 1. Get ready for Pat Surtain and company to have plenty of opportunities against the rookie quarterback. |
New York Jets QB Justin Fields has been a 'workaholic' this offseason, according to offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand. 'He comes in early, he's here late, and he's trying to digest everything and download all the information and do things the right way,' Engstrand said.
Footballguys view: Fields has a chip on his shoulder, and that could benefit the Jets and Fantasy GMs out there. With his rushing ability, Fields is automatically a potential QB1 from a fantasy perspective. Add in the talent around him on offense like WR Garrett Wilson, and Fields could finish the season as a top-12 fantasy quarterback. If you're streaming quarterbacks, Fields is certainly an option you can get later in your drafts. |

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Dyami Brown was one of the standout performers during offseason workouts, in the opinion of The Florida Times-Union's Juston Lewis.
Footballguys view: Let's see what Brown can do in training camp and the preseason. The veteran receiver is a speedy player who can take the top off the defense. With Brian Thomas and no.2 overall pick Travis Hunter, Brown could work as the no.3 receiver for the Jaguars. In a pass-happy offense under HC Liam Coen, Brown could have end-of-the-bench fantasy value. |
Dyami Brown player page
New England Patriots WR Kendrick Bourne and WR Kayshon Boutte received work with the first-team offense during offseason practices.
Footballguys view: The Patriots have an interesting group of receivers...for many reasons. Stefon Diggs and Demario Douglas are the top two receivers, and guys like Bourne and Boutte will be working behind them. Both Bourne and Boutte are intriguing dynasty prospects we like in those formats, especially with the expected growth from QB Drake Maye. |

Seattle Seahawks WR Cooper Kupp 'looked the part' of 'a legitimate complementary piece' to WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba during minicamp and OTAs, in the opinion of Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic, who writes that Kupp 'still has enough wiggle, understanding of leverage and quickness' to make things difficult for defenses both in underneath routes and the red zone.
Footballguys view: Kupp can be an immediate favorite target for QB Sam Darnold, and that has a certain amount of fantasy value. He could easily be a weekly flex play or at least deep flex play for Fantasy GMs on a weekly basis. |
Cooper Kupp player page
Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers plans to spend time with offensive coordinator Arthur Smith to find a 'middle ground' between Rodgers' 'pass-happy' approach and Smith's 'run-heavy' play-calling, according to The Athletic's Mike DeFabo.
Footballguys view: Rodgers finished second in the NFL in pass attempts last season while Smith called the fourth-most running plays. It will be a different look for Rodgers this season, and that will include fewer passing attempts. However, expect Rodgers to thrive on play-action passing if/when the Steelers are running the ball effectively. |

Arizona Cardinals WR Zay Jones likely will serve as the No. 3 receiver for the Cardinals this upcoming season, in the opinion of CardsWire's Jess Root.
Footballguys view: With Trey McBride also being a top-two passing option, that means Jones will likely be, at best, fourth on the team in targets. Jones has gotten his career back on track after a bumpy start. But barring a huge breakout from Kyler Murray, it's tough to envision the veteran finding himself in a fantasy-relevant role. |

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle said he believes he will continue his career until it feels no longer fun to play. 'I don't know, I think if I get to 35 and it hurts to put pants on in the morning, I think I'll be like, 'Ah, this isn't that much fun anymore,' and I'll have a conversation with myself. But I'm feeling great right now,' Kittle said.
Footballguys view: Tight ends maintaining elite production into their 30s isn't that unusual. Kittle will be 32 this year, but he's coming off a TE1 finish just last year. With Deebo Samuel traded and Brandon Aiyuk on the mend, the early-season passing attack should revolve around Kittle. While many drafters are turning to Brock Bowers and Trey McBride as the shiny new toys, Kittle, going rounds after both, is a great value in drafts. |

Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert is excited for new offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo's system and believes he'll be featured more in it. 'I've really loved what he's doing with the offense,' Goedert said. 'Little changes here and there and I'm really excited for the opportunity just to -- with the connection I grew with him the last four years. What he sees in me in different ways that he's going to get me the ball I'm really excited for.'
Footballguys view: Goedert's 2021 and 2022 seasons caused some excitement, but he's come up short of his per-game numbers in both years since. Now heading into his age-30 season, he projects to be third on the team in a low-volume passing offense. We've seen Goedert's involvement spike if AJ Brown or DeVonta Smith miss any time, giving him some sneaky contingent value. Being drafted as the TE15, there's almost no risk. He's worth a shot late in drafts, especially in two-TE builds. |
Dallas Goedert player page
New York Jets C Josh Myers and C Joe Tippmann will be a 'legitimate competition for the starting center job,' according to The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt, who notes that Tippmann was a draft pick from the previous head coach/general manager, and that Myers has more experience with 56 starts to Tippmann's 31, not all of which came at center. In addition, Rosenblatt mentions that Myers played with new QB Justin Fields at Ohio State, so the newcomer is 'getting a real shot' despite signing a modest one-year contract.
Link to storyNew England Patriots WR Efton Chism III received praise from both QB Drake Maye and head coach Mike Vrabel for his play during spring practices, and The Athletic's Chad Graff believes that Chism will 'enter camp with a decent shot at making the team.'
Footballguys view: Jakobi Meyers and Wes Welker went undrafted, and Julian Edelman was a seventh-round pick. The Patriots have an illustrious history of hitting on wide receivers with minimal investment, causing a groundswell of excitement for the undrafted Chism. The slot role in OC Josh McDaniels' offenses has been a lucrative role worth targeting in fantasy. Demario Douglas, Stefon Diggs, and Ja'Lynn Polk are all in play for that role as well. But if Chism grasps it, he'll be one of the biggest steals from this year's rookie class. |
Minnesota Vikings QB J.J. McCarthy was given 'lengthy call sheets before practices' and 'was responsible for calls at the line of scrimmage' during offseason activities, according to The Athletic's Alec Lewis, who writes that McCarthy threw the ball with accuracy and that his arm strength 'stood out.' Lewis adds that the coaching staff hope that making things more difficult during the offseason program will 'supercharge' McCarthy's growth in 2025.
Footballguys view: McCarthy's arm talent and athleticism were obvious in college. But his success likely hinges on his ability to understand Kevin O'Connell's complex system. The Vikings' staff is testing his cerebral skills early. And they felt comfortable enough to head into the season with him atop the depth chart. McCarthy is young, mobile, and surrounded by an elite supporting cast of pass catchers. While there's obvious risk in drafting a player who has never taken an NFL snap, McCarthy has an easy path to outperforming his QB19 ADP. |
Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes noted it's a big advantage to have WRs Rashee Rice, Hollywood Brown, Xavier Worthy, and JuJu Smith-Schuster all back and healthy, per The Athletic's Zak Keefer, and that depth at receiver is a driving force behind head coach Andy Reid making it a point to push the ball deep down the field more during the upcoming season.
Footballguys view: Much ado was made about the Chiefs taking the air out of the ball last year. But Brown was knocked out in the preseason. Rice suffered a season-ending injury in Week 3. Smith-Schuster suffered a midseason injury that he struggled to return from. And Worthy was a rookie who didn't heat up until late in the year. With a healthy corps of pass-catchers at his disposal, it's easy to envision Mahomes getting back on track as an elite fantasy quarterback in 2025. |
Patrick Mahomes II player page
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Bhayshul Tuten agreed to a four-year rookie contract, according to sources Tuesday, June 24.
Footballguys view: The Jaguars' backfield is one of the toughest to project. Tuten is the lone back selected by the new regime and brings off-the-charts athleticism and a fumbling issue. Travis Etienne is a former first-round pick with a dual-threat skill set as a rusher and receiver. And Tank Bigsby, who had a quiet rookie season, stepped up in Year 2. HC Liam Coen deployed a rotational committee last year in Tampa Bay. And that tendency could make for a frustrating situation in Jacksonville this year. |
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Calvin Austin is battling for a starting role in the offense but will face some competition from Robert Woods, in the opinion of Steelers Wire's Curt Popejoy.
Footballguys view: Woods is entering his age-33 season, but HC Mike Tomlin and OC Arthur Smith both like wide receivers who are willing to get dirty in the blocking game. Austin is younger and faster, but his size limitations could allow the veteran to get more snaps than many are expecting. Protecting an aging Aaron Rodgers will be a top priority, and Woods brings the edge there. |

Seattle Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba 'plays a lot stronger than he gets credit for' and 'is incredibly competitive ... similar to what (Puka Nacua) was coming (into the league) as well,' according to new teammate and fellow receiver Cooper Kupp.'I think the first thing that struck me (about Smith-Njigba), he plays a lot stronger than he gets credit for. His decisiveness and belief in himself and what he can do. He's incredibly competitive. He knows he's not going to lose. It's similar to what Puka [Nacua] was coming in as well. Their competitiveness and play strength are very similar,' Kupp said.
Footballguys view: Smith-Njigba broke out in a huge way in 2024. With DK Metcalf now in Pittsburgh, his ascension is set to continue. Kupp is right in saying that Smith-Njigba is strong, and his athleticism is one of his best traits. And Kupp's best traits are between the ears. If some of Kupp's cerebral play rubs off onto Smith-Njigba, he has the tools to be one of the league's best receivers. |
Jaxon Smith-Njigba player page
Carolina Panthers WR Tetairoa McMillan was 'as advertised' prior to the collision that sidelined him for the final two days of mandatory minicamp, according to ESPN.com David Newton.'The goal is to get him comfortable with the system, the different types of plays, and the different formations. We're starting to make it more challenging in terms of moving him around in different spots. He's handling it great,'' head coach Dave Canales said recently.
Footballguys view: Dave Canales focused his pre-Carolina passing attacks around DK Metcalf and Mike Evans, two prototypical X receivers. McMillan is cut from the same cloth. And while they tried shoehorning Xavier Legette into that role last year, McMillan should find much more success. Bryce Young was red hot down the stretch last year. And if he can carry that effortless play over into 2025, McMillan could smash his WR27 ADP. |
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Emeka Egbuka is going to 'have a big role in the offense - especially with Chris Godwin still recovering from ankle surgery - and even after,' according to ESPN.com's Jenna Laine.'The thing that sticks out is how cerebral he is. He's so smart. Right now, I think we could plug-and-play him at every (wide) receiver spot; he understands the offense that well. That's just him being a pro already,' quarterback Baker Mayfield said recently.
Footballguys view: If Godwin can't play to start the season, Egbuka profiles for the slot role, one that has been very lucrative in this Tampa Bay offense. While many are expecting a slow career start due to the intense target competition, the Buccaneers run a lot of 3WR sets. Egbuka could be a near full-time player right out of the gate, and possesses league-winning contingent upside if Godwin or Evans miss any time. |
Indianapolis Colts TE Tyler Warren had a 'great spring,' one in which he erased any doubts about him having a notable role in the offense right away, according to Stephen Holder of ESPN.com.
Footballguys view: Warren's versatility was one of the most intriguing strengths on his prospect profile, and reports out of Indianapolis are that he's being used all over the formation. While a comparison to Brock Bowers is lofty, Warren plays with a similar physical tenacity and can create consistent chunk plays after the catch. We've seen rookie tight ends find immediate success in recent years, and Warren could easily follow that path. |
Baltimore Ravens CB Jaire Alexander considered the Atlanta Falcons and Miami Dolphins before settling on a one-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Will Shipley 'offers the dynamic qualities that ideally complement (Saquon) Barkley' and 'should add a nice flair to a new-look Eagles offense,' according to Andrew DiCecco of Inside The Birds.
Footballguys view: Shipley was a pass-catching machine in college and could be helpful in a similar role in the NFL. With recently-acquired AJ Dillon now in Philadelphia as well, their fundamentally different skill sets allow the staff to lean on each of their strengths. Tying this in with reports that the Eagles want to lessen Barkley's load, Shipley should start to creep up draft boards. |
Philadelphia Eagles RB P Saquon Barkley has been calculated when balancing training and recovery this offseason, ensuring he's as fresh as possible when players report to training camp. However, multiple players publicly expressed the need for the offense to evolve from last year's run-heavy attack, according to Andrew DiCecco of Inside The Birds.
Footballguys view: Recovery only becomes more critical as we age. And Barkley, coming off 482 touches and heading into his age-28 season, knows that. The Eagles can spend all offseason talking about their plans. But when the games kick off, they'll likely lean on their superstar running back the same way they did last year. |

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers told The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, June 24, that he is 'pretty sure (the 2025 season) is my last season.'
Footballguys view: It looks like the Aaron Rodgers retirement discourse is starting a year early. For dynasty managers rostering Rodgers, it already feels like he's on borrowed time. For redraft managers, we'll just have to reassess next year. Either way, Rodgers shouldn't be on the fantasy radar outside of superflex leagues. |

Washington Commanders RB Austin Ekeler could be a cut candidate after the team selected RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt in the seventh round. The team would gain over $3.4 million in cap savings with a $1.5 million hit in dead money by releasing Ekeler.
Footballguys view: Ekeler was decent as a pass catcher last year. And no other running back on the depth chart specializes in that role the way he does. While this would come as a bit of a surprise, there are a lot of RB-needy teams out there who would be quick to sign Ekeler. |
Austin Ekeler player page
Indianapolis Colts QB Daniel Jones has built a significant lead over QB Anthony Richardson for the starting quarterback job, according to The Athletic's James Boyd.
Footballguys view: Considering Richardson has been missing time with a shoulder injury, this shouldn't come as a huge shock. Jones has his flaws, but he's at least proven capable of keeping a team afloat and providing his pass catchers with enough volume to be relevant in fantasy. Richardson has not. While Richardson would be the more exciting quarterback, Jones might be the one we want to see if we're investing in Jonathan Taylor, Michael Pittman, Josh Downs, and Tyler Warren. |

Cleveland Browns QB Joe Flacco is the 'best pure thrower' among the team's four quarterbacks, in the opinion of The Athletic's Zac Jackson, who adds that the veteran's 'steadiness and experience' have made him a 'valuable addition.' Flacco has 'the respect of the locker room,' per Jackson, who writes that re-signing Flacco was a smart move no matter how many games he starts for the team in 2025.
Footballguys view: Flacco has looked good over the last two years, with both the Colts and Browns. He's developed a tendency to be more of a gunslinger than he was in his younger days, raising the fantasy values of everyone around him. He's the complete opposite of Kenny Pickett, who can be careful to a fault. The outlooks for most of the pass catchers in Cleveland will be heavily skewed by who is playing quarterback, with Flacco likely being the most favorable option. |
