Ravens | Coach explains Rashod Bateman absence Fri Sep 12, 01:14 PM
Updating a previous report, Baltimore Ravens WR Rashod Bateman (non-injury) missed practice Friday, Sept. 12, because of a personal issue, according to head coach John Harbaugh.

Cleveland Browns RB Quinshon Judkins (non-injury) is questionable to play in Week 2 against the Baltimore Ravens, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski.
Footballguys view: Even if Judkins is active, he won't play a large role, and the Browns have a tough matchup against the Ravens. There is some possibility of a suspension as the league hasn't wound up their investigation of the domestic violence incident that froze the contract negotiation process between Judkins camp and the Browns. Hold onto Judkins as long as bench size allows, but don't expect much if anything this weekend. |
Washington Commanders Deatrich Wise Jr. (quad) suffered a season-ending injury in Week 2 against the Green Bay Packers. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Wise will undergo surgery for the injury.

New York Giants WR Darius Slayton (groin) is expected to play in the Week 2 game despite his groin injury, according to head coach Brian Daboll.

Arizona Cardinals TE Tip Reiman (foot) will not be available for the Week 2 game, according to head coach Jonathan Gannon.
Link to storyKansas City WR Xavier Worthy (shoulder) was spotted on the field during the portion of practice open to the media on Friday, Sept. 12, according to The Kansas City Star's Sam McDowell. Per McDowell, Worthy was spotted running pass patterns at about one-third speed.
Link to storyAtlanta Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. opened the coaches' eyes to things they didn't know he possessed, according to head coach Raheem Morris. One of them was his ability to process defensive looks and find the right receiver.
Link to storyPhiladelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (knee) is out of practice Friday, Sept. 12, and is likely doubtful for Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Footballguys view: #3 receiver Jahan Dotson, who had the biggest play in the passing game for the Eagles in Week 1, could play a larger role this week. Grant Calcaterra is backing up Goedert, and can replace some of his presence in the passing game, but Calcaterra is a subpar blocker and can't provide the same kind of presence as Goedert in helping the whole offense go. |

New York Giants OT Andrew Thomas (foot) is practicing again Friday, Sept. 12, which makes a Week 2 return against the Dallas Cowboys possible.
Link to storyDallas Cowboys CB DaRon Bland (foot) won't play Week 2 against the New York Giants, according to head coach Brian Schottenheimer. The Dallas coach was noncommittal about Bland returning for Week 3, but said he doesn't believe Bland will need a stint on injured reserve, reported Jon Machota of The Athletic.
Footballguys view: Against other offenses, the loss of Bland could be a big deal. Against the Giants, it probably won't matter. After watching how easily the Packers moved the ball through the air against the Commanders - who held the Giants to six points - the Cowboys defense should be ok without Bland. |
Baltimore Ravens WR Rashod Bateman (undisclosed) was not spotted at practice Friday, Sept. 12.

Baltimore Ravens TE Isaiah Likely (foot) is unlikely to play in Week 2. He did increase his activity level in practice Friday, Sept. 12, working out in front of the training staff.
Footballguys view: If you've been holding onto Likely in your deep or tight end premium league, don't drop him yet. Mark Andrews didn't have a big role in the passing game in Week 1 and the Ravens offense looks as potent as ever. |
Baltimore Ravens TE Isaiah Likely (foot) was in uniform and working out in front of members of the athletic training and medical staffs on Friday, Sept. 12, The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec reported.
Link to storyMiami Dolphins TE Darren Waller (hip) won't play again in Week 2.

Buffalo Bills DT Ed Oliver (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 2 game against the New York Jets, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported. The ankle injury is considered a multi-week injury.
Footballguys view: This is important not just because of Oliver's disruptive presence, but because the Jets are going to try to put the lean on the Bills run defense, especially after Derrick repeatedly left them in the dust last week. Two rookies, T.J. Sanders and Deone Walker, will help pick up the slack. |

Miami Dolphins RB Jaylen Wright (leg) is doubtful to play in Week 2, according to head coach Mike McDaniel.
Link to storyMiami Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (shoulder) is expected to play in Week 2.
Footballguys view: The Dolphins offense will attempt to get out of the driveway this week against the Patriots. With Tyreek Hill generating off-field turmoil again amidst continuing trade rumors, perhaps Mike McDaniel will emphasize Waddle against a defense that just gave up 362 passing yards to Geno Smith and the Raiders. |

Green Bay Packers LB Edgerrin Cooper had a team-high 10 tackles -- seven solo -- to go along with two quarterback hits, and a half sack against the Washington Commanders in Week 2.
Link to storyGreen Bay Packers WR Matthew Golden was targeted twice but did not have a reception against the Washington Commanders in Week 1. He did run the ball two times for 15 yards.
Footballguys view: Both targets could have been long touchdowns. Golden is a boom/bust play for sure, but Jordan Love has been very good on targets to other receivers, so it's likely he and Golden will get it ironed out, and some boom weeks will be coming. Keep the faith. |
Green Bay Packers WR Romeo Doubs had three receptions, 28 yards, and a touchdown versus the Washington Commanders in Week 2. He was targeted five times.
Footballguys view: Doubs touchdown came early in the game, but he did not see an uptick in targets when Jayden Reed went out. He was already on the field more than any other Packers receiver, so the Reed injury doesn't potentially add as much to his value as it does other targets in the Packers passing game. |
Green Bay Packers WR Dontayvion Wicks had four receptions (on six targets) for 44 yards against the Washington Commanders in Week 2.
Footballguys view: Wicks was the focus of the passing game during the first drive of the game and his hands were not a problem. He could see more snaps and targets while Jayden Reed is out, so he's worth looking at as a pickup next week in deeper leagues. |

Updating previous reports, Green Bay Packers WR Jayden Reed (shoulder) suffered a broken collarbone in Week 2 against the Washington Commanders, per head coach Matt LaFleur. Reed will miss 'significant time,' but the team believes he will return this season.
Footballguys view: Most estimates put the absence at at least 6-8 weeks. In addition to Week 2 star Tucker Kraft, third round pick Savion Williams also is at his best after the catch, so the Packers could use the rookie more with a few extra days to get him up to speed before they go to Cleveland next week. |
Jayden Reed player page
Green Bay Packers TE Tucker Kraft had six receptions, 124 yards, and a touchdown in the team's Week 2 victory over the Washington Commanders. Kraft was targeted seven times.
Footballguys view: Kraft broke free for a 57-yard gain early in the game and the Commanders still didn't seem like they could cover him all night. He could take on a more central role in the passing game with Jayden Reed out. After Week 2, there's no reason for Kraft to be on your bench when you set your lineup. |

Green Bay Packers WR Savion Williams ran the ball twice for 24 yards in a Week 2 matchup with the Washington Commanders.
Link to storyGreen Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs carried the ball 23 times for 84 yards and a touchdown against the Washington Commanders in Week 2. Jacobs was not targeted as a receiver.
Footballguys view: Jacobs has been mostly contained as a runner, and not that productive as a receiver, but you still have to feel good about his staying power because of the Packers defense's ability to keep them in run-heavy game scripts. The Packers were also missing two starting offensive linemen in a short week of rest. |

Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love connected on 19 of his 31 passing attempts for 292 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions in a 27-18 victory over the Washington Commanders. Love also ran three times for 12 yards.
Footballguys view: Love had one touchdown called back by a holding penalty (he also lost Jayden Reed for a good part of the season on the play after he broke his collarbone making the catch), and uncharacteristically missed an open Matthew Golden for a score on fourth down on a play that was delayed because Kingsley Enagbare ran on the field thinking the team would attempt a field goal. There was a bigger game there for Love in fantasy even though the Packers led comfortably in the second half against a 2024 playoff team for the second straight week. Love's fantasy value is growing, but the quality of the Packers defense and Josh Jacobs penchant for finishing drives could slightly cap Love's upside. In light of this result, we have to think the Giants offense is even worse than we thought because everything came so easy for the Packers in the passing game - even without Jayden Reed for a good part of the game. Love has his first true test of the season at Cleveland next week. |

Washington Commanders LB Bobby Wagner led the team with 11 tackles (three solo) in a Week 2 defeat at the hands of the Green Bay Packers.

Washington Commanders WR Deebo Samuel collected a game-high seven receptions, 44 yards, and a touchdown versus the Green Bay Packers in Week 2. He was targeted eight times, which tied for second-most on the club.
Footballguys view: Samuel's targets are often going to come close to the line of scrimmage, so at least his catch rate against this stingy Packer defense was pretty good. Samuel's touchdown was in garbage time, but he also had a 50-yard kickoff return to show that he is still a very viable NFL weapon. His role in the backfield could increase with the injury to Austin Ekeler. |
Deebo Samuel Sr. player page
Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin had five catches for 48 yards in a Week 2 loss to the Green Bay Packers. McLaurin was targeted a game-high nine times.
Footballguys view: Jayden Daniels simply did not have time to look downfield and find McLaurin. The Packers are going to frustrate most, if not all, downfield passing games they face in 2025. The good news for Cleveland next week is that they don't really have a vertical passing game with Joe Flacco anyway. McLaurin has a decent chance of a ceiling game next week against the Raiders to put the memory of his hold-in and slow start in the rear view mirror. |
Terry McLaurin player page
Washington Commanders TE Zach Ertz had six receptions (on eight targets) for 64 yards and a touchdown during the team's 27-18 loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 2.
Footballguys view: Ertz also drew a holding penalty in the end zone to set up another score. He has still got it at 34, and Jayden Daniels needed his prowess in the short and intermediate game to move the ball in the second half. Ertz has scored in both games this year and should be in fantasy lineups against the Raiders next week. He will be a priority pickup if he's out there in short bench leagues. |

Updating an earlier report, Washington Commanders RB Austin Ekeler (Achilles) is believed to have suffered a ruptured Achilles' tendon during the team's Week 2 matchup with the Green Bay Packers. He will undergo imaging to confirm the injury on Friday, Sept. 12. Prior to departing, Ekeler carried the ball eight times for 17 yards to go along with two receptions for seven yards.
Footballguys view: Ekeler had been showing his signature burst and creativity from the Chargers days as a Commander even though they didn't give him a large enough role to flourish in fantasy leagues. Washington's offense will miss him more than fantasy teams. If this is it for Ekeler, he will go down as one of the best UDFA backs in NFL history, and an inspiration to small school college players and undrafted players everywhere. |
Austin Ekeler player page
Washington Commanders RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt had four carries for 17 yards in a Week 2 loss to the Green Bay Packers. Croskey-Merritt was targeted once in the passing game but did not record a reception.
Footballguys view: The game script was terrible for the Washington running game, and this is a Packers defense that bottled up a much more robust Lions running game in Week 1. We shouldn't read too much into this as an indicator of Croskey-Merritt's prospects going forward. He could get marginally more snaps with Austin Ekeler likely gone for the season, but expect the Commanders to bring in a veteran back who can help replace Ekeler in the passing game. |
Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels completed 24 of 42 passes for 200 yards and a pair of touchdowns against the Green Bay Packers in Week 2. Daniels, who took four sacks, ran seven times for 17 yards as well.
Footballguys view: One of the two touchdowns came in garbage time. The Packers have blown out two of the 2024 NFC playoff teams to begin the season, and two multi-faceted, high-powered offenses have been left without ways to move the ball consistently against the controlled chaos the Packers defense creates. Daniels did very little until the last 19 minutes of the game. It's scary to imagine what the Packers defense is going to do to the Browns next week, but Daniels should bounce back against the Raiders. |
