The Kansas City Chiefs waived DE B.J. Thompson (illness) Saturday, May 3. However, if he clears waivers, he would revert back to the team's Reserve/Injured list and continue his rehab from a seizure sustained in June 2024, according to a source.

Free-agent RB Nick Chubb (Browns) appears to be an unlikely option for the Cleveland Browns now that RB Jerome Ford agreed to take a pay cut, according to a source.
Footballguys view: The Browns re-worked their RB corps in the NFL Draft with Quinshon Judkins (Ohio State) added in the second round. Judkins is likely to be the lead back for the team this season, and he brings a blend of power and speed to the field. They also selected Dylan Sampson (Tennessee) in the fourth round. We should see Ford and Sampson compete to be the primary backups and/or change-of-pace backs behind Judkins in training camp. |

Carolina Panthers WR Tetairoa McMillan was compared to Cincinnati Bengals WR Tee Higgins by an NFL executive. 'I think he is like Tee Higgins,' the executive said. 'That is higher than Tee went, but you would still be getting a top-15 receiver in the league.'
Footballguys view: There were some in the scouting community who compared McMillan to Mike Evans, Michael Pittman, or Drake London. Depending on where you categorize WR/CB Travis Hunter (Jaguars), McMillan was arguably the best receiver in this class. He's a prototypical 'X' receiver who can dominate at the catch point. QB Bryce Young was apparently vouching for McMillan in the pre-draft process, so we may see an instant chemistry between the two. We will watch his career with great interest. |
The Philadelphia Eagles signed sixth-round pick QB Kyle McCord (Syracuse) to a four-year contract.
Footballguys view: The Eagles have quite the competition behind starting QB Jalen Hurts. McCord will compete with Dorian Thompson-Robinson and Tanner McKee. Coming out of Syracuse, McCord shows good feel for the game. He needs to get steadier under pressure, but McCord has the ability to pick apart a defense with short-to-intermediate accuracy. Dynasty GMs will monitor his progress. |
Cameron Wolfe, from NFL Network, reports the Tennessee Titans will scheme around their blocking concerns by designing plays that allow QB Cam Ward to get "the ball out of his hands quickly."
Footballguys view: Ward is a dangerous quarterback when the play breaks down. He gets to top speed in a hurry, and he is tough to get a bead on as a runner. Defenders can't bottle him up easily when chaos ensues. Getting the ball out of his hands quickly will be good for the timing and rhythm as he gets used to the pro game. |
Updating a previous report, free-agent OT Joe Noteboom (Rams) agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens Saturday, May 3. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Link to storyBaltimore Ravens third-round draft choice OT Emery Jones Jr., fourth-round draft choice Teddye Buchanan, fifth-round draft choice OT Carson Vinson, sixth-round draft choice Bilhal Kone, sixth-round draft choice PK Tyler Loop, sixth-round draft choice WR LaJohntay Wester, sixth-round draft choice DT Aeneas Peebles, sixth-round draft choice CB Robert Longerbeam and seventh-round draft choice OG Garrett Dellinger signed four-year contracts with the Ravens Saturday, May 3. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Link to storySeattle Seahawks TE Elijah Arroyo (knee) said the knee injury that limited him during the pre-draft process is no longer bothering him.
Footballguys view: Arroyo is an intriguing prospect with a ton of upside, and that's why the Seahawks selected him at no.50 overall. Seahawks HC Mike Macdonald told reporters that Arroyo is a "unique" player, who can "run an extensive route tree" both in-line and out wide. Tight ends take some time to develop, but Dynasty GMs should love Arroyo when he's up to speed in the NFL. |
Seattle Seahawks QB Jalen Milroe has been working with private quarterback coach Jordan Palmer for a year and a half.
Footballguys view: Palmer has worked with guys like Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen, so Milroe is putting in the work to be better as a passer. Milroe is an incredible runner, and he throws a great deep ball. Now, Milroe needs Palmer's help to become a better short-to-intermediate thrower. Milroe gets time to develop on the Seahawks roster behind Sam Darnold and Drew Lock. |
Seattle Seahawks WR Tory Horton (knee) did not participate in practice Friday, May 2, but did catch passes on the side.
Footballguys view: Horton is coming back from the knee injury he suffered last year for Colorado State. If healthy, Horton would have picked higher than the fifth-round pick the Seahawks spent on him. We'll see what Horton's status is when training camp rolls around. Dynasty GMs should keep him on their radar in deeper leagues. |
The Philadelphia Eagles signed undrafted free-agent WR Giles Jackson (Michigan) Friday, May 2. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Link to storyLos Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford is expected to go year-to-year with his decision to continue playing, but head coach Sean McVay said he hopes Stafford plays for several more seasons.
Footballguys view: The Rams don't have an heir apparent on the roster. But they do have two first-round picks for 2026, having acquired the Falcons' top selection for next year. That gives them ammunition to trade up for a quarterback in 2026 if they so desire. Still, McVay's hope is understandable. Stafford has kept the Rams contenders. He is 19-12 as a starter the past two seasons, completing 64.2 percent of his passes for 7,727 yards with 44 touchdowns and 19 interceptions. "We have a chance with him every time he's at the switch, and love working with him," McVay told Adam Schein on SiriusXM's Mad Dog Sports Radio. In addition, fantasy managers with stakes in Puka Nacua, Davante Adams, and Kyren Williams have a better chance of getting the most out of their investments. |

Green Bay Packers WR Christian Watson (knee) has been impressive in rehab from a torn anterior cruciate ligament, according to head coach Matt LaFleur.
Footballguys view: Watson should be able to return around the midway point of the season. He seems to be ahead in his recovery, so long as there's no setback a mid-season debut could happen. Watson suffered the injury in Week 18, so he may not look like himself until later in the 2025 season. We'll see how rookie WR Matthew Golden fits in with guys like Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, and Romeo Doubs. |
Free-agent TE Ross Dwelley (Falcons) signed a one-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers on Friday, May 2. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.
Footballguys view: Dwelley spent six seasons with the 49ers before signing with Atlanta last year. He appeared in every game for the Falcons last season and caught one pass for five yards in 105 offensive snaps. He also had one tackle on special teams. In his first 49ers stint, Dwelley had 44 catches for 518 yards and five touchdowns. George Kittle, Luke Farrell, Brayden Willis, Jake Tonges, and Mason Pline are the other 49ers tight ends on the 90-man roster. |

An unidentified NFL team expressed interest in trading for San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle approximately one week before he agreed to terms on a four-year, $76.4 million contract extension, according to a source. The 49ers were reportedly offered a second-round 2025 draft pick in exchange for Kittle.
Footballguys view: This story has been out there for a bit after the draft. The team decided the second-round pick (if the reports are true) that was offered was not enough. While some reported an extension wasn't close, the truth was the 49ers didn't want to let him go. That's why he signed an extension and didn't get dealt. He's a top-tier fantasy tight end, and Kittle could be an even larger part of the offense with Deebo Samuel playing for the Commanders this year. |

Free-agent OG Will Hernandez (Cardinals) could be an option to re-sign with the Arizona Cardinals since the team did not sign a starting-caliber guard in free agency and did not draft a guard that is believed to be an immediate starter, in the opinion of CardsWire's Jess Root.

Financial terms of the deals were not immediately disclosed.
Link to storyMiami Dolphins CB Jalen Ramsey, who was expected to be traded or released before training camp, has remained in 'great touch' with Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay since the Rams traded him to the Dolphins just over two years ago.'He is a total stud and you look at - obviously he has continued to play at a really high level. He and I have kept in great touch even since we ended up trading him to Miami. Special competitor, great person, great father. And so there are a lot of layers when you're talking about a player of his caliber, with regards to the contract, the compensation that they would be looking for in exchange for receiving a player of his magnitude. And so those conversations are ongoing as I'm sure they are with multiple teams. And we'll see, but we're never gonna shy away from opportunities to increase the competitiveness of our roster or add great players as long as it fits within the framework of everything that an acquisition like that would entail,' McVay told Adam Schein of SiriusXM Mad Dog Radio recently.

Green Bay Packers third-round draft choice WR Savion Williams (Texas Christian), fourth-round draft choice DL Barryn Sorrell (Texas), fifth-round draft choice DE Collin Oliver (Oklahoma State), sixth-round draft choice DT Warren Brinson (Georgia) and seventh-round draft choices CB Micah Robinson (Tulane) and OL John Williams (Cincinnati) signed their four-year rookie contracts on Thursday, May 1. Financial terms of the deals were not immediately disclosed.
Footballguys view: Savion Williams is the player we're most excited about here, and Fantasy GMs should follow suit. Super athletic and with size, Williams reminds some in the scouting community of Nico Collins (Texans). He can take the top off the defense, and Williams has strength after the catch too. With refined route-running and improved concentration, Williams could end up being a steal for the Packers - and for dynasty GMs out there. |
Free-agent RB Nyheim Hines (Browns) worked out for the Houston Texans on Thursday, May 1.
Footballguys view: Hines hasn't played football since the 2022 season when he split time with the Colts and the Bills. He missed all of 2023 due to an accident involving a jet ski, and he couldn't get right last year with the Browns. He was declared out for the remainder of the 2024 season in late October. If healthy, the veteran back can help out in passing situations. The Texans may just be updating their emergency list here. |

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle agreed to a four-year contract extension worth $76.4 million earlier this week, but not before an unnamed team offered the 49ers a second-round draft pick during the 2025 NFL Draft.
Footballguys view: A second-round pick would have been a good deal for both sides, but the 49ers wanted to keep Kittle around as a key piece for their offense. Entering his age-32 season, with his new deal Kittle is under contract through 2029. Last year, Kittle finished with 78 catches for 1,106 yards and eight touchdowns. That was good for the best tight end mark in standard-scoring leagues, and Kittle has been a top-3 fantasy tight end in ever season but two in his pro career. |

Cleveland Browns RB Jerome Ford reportedly agreed to a reworked contract on Friday, May 2, that will lower his base salary from $3.486 million in 2025 to a guaranteed $1.75 million, according to a source.
Footballguys view: The Browns revamped their running back room with the addition of second-round RB Quinshon Judkins (Ohio State). We should see Judkins as the lead back, and he brings a blend of power and speed to the field. Ford is competing to be the primary change-of-pace back for the Browns this year. He'll compete with another rookie, Dylan Sampson (Tennessee) for that spot. |
Dallas Cowboys first-round draft choice OG Tyler Booker (Alabama) reportedly signed his four-year rookie contract worth $22.553 million - including a $13 million signing bonus - on Friday, May 2. The deal also includes a fifth-year team option.
Link to storyGreen Bay Packers CB Jaire Alexander would prefer to be cut so he can choose his destination. In the opinion of SI.com's Albert Breer, the most likely scenario, though, is he returns to Green Bay on a revised contract.

Carolina Panthers WR Adam Thielen isn't looking past the 2025 season, but his family wanted him to play this season.
Footballguys view: Thielen chose to play one more year after consulting his family. He reworked his contract to make it essentially a one-year, $8.5 million deal for 2025. Thielen can still produce, even though the Panthers have added more talent to the room this offseason (mainly in the draft). Last year, Thielen caught 48 passes for 615 yards and five touchdowns in 10 games. Now, with first-round pick Tetairoa McMillan as likely the lead receiver we should see Thielen work as a solid veteran/no.3 option for QB Bryce Young. |

Free-agent RB Nick Chubb (Browns) is still very much wanted by the Cleveland Browns, but the Chicago Bears are reportedly serious about signing him as well, according to Ken Carman of 92.3 The Fan.'The Browns want to bring Nick Chubb back. They are trying hard to bring Nick back. I know this. The Bears are very serious about bringing him in and are trying to make this push,' Carman said.
Footballguys view: If healthy, Chubb could still play at a high level. He hasn't been the same since getting banged up early in the 2023 season. Chubb certainly didn't look like himself last year, only gaining 332 yards on 103 carries in eight games. If added by the Bears, Chubb would compete with D'Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson for touches in that backfield. |

Link to storyUndrafted free-agent QB Blake Stenstrom (Princeton) has received an invite to the Denver Broncos' rookie minicamp.
Link to storyTennessee Titans WR Treylon Burks had his fifth-year option declined Thursday, May 1.
Footballguys view: No surprise here. The former first-round pick has failed to play up to expectations due to health mainly. He's still recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in Week 5 last season. The room is even more full this year with veteran additions and draft picks, so there's no guarantee Burks will make the final roster in what is clearly a 'prove-it' season. |
The Los Angeles Chargers did not exercise the fifth-year option on OG Zion Johnson, per The Athletic's Daniel Popper.
Link to storyDetroit Lions WR Jameson Williams had his fifth-year option picked up on Friday, April 25, but it's unclear if the team will sign a long-term extension with Williams. GM Brad Holmes said the team is 'taking it as it goes' in regards to a extension for Williams, and Holmes added that 'you just don't know what's going to happen' due to the cost associated with wide receiver contracts.
Footballguys view: There's no need to rush a deal right now with Williams under contract through the 2026 season. He played up to his potential in 2024 (finally), and the former first-round pick compiled career highs in catches (58), yards (1,001), and touchdowns (7). Lions GM Brad Holmes said the team did not entertain offers for Williams during the draft. If he continues to stay healthy and produce, Williams will earn that extension in a year or so. |
Undrafted free-agent DT Junior Tafuna (Utah) signed a three-year deal with the Houston Texans that includes $200,000 in guarantees.
