Panthers | Trevor Etienne inks with Carolina Tue May 13, 01:59 PM
Carolina Panthers RB Trevor Etienne signed his rookie contract on Tuesday, May 13. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Etienne, the younger brother of Jaguars running back Travis Etienne, played two years at Florida before transferring to Georgia for the 2024 season. He ran 122 times for 609 yards and nine touchdowns while also catching 32 passes in his lone season with the Bulldogs. With 2024 second-round pick Jonathon Brooks (knee) already ruled out for this season, Chuba Hubbard, Rico Dowdle, and Raheem Blackshear are the remaining running backs for Carolina. |

Packers | Bigger role for Tucker Kraft in 2025? Tue May 13, 01:36 AM
Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich says it will be a 'big thing' to 'find different ways' to get TE Tucker Kraft the ball more this season, adding they're looking for Kraft to take the 'next step' in becoming a 'dominant player' at the tight end position.
Footballguys view: With Luke Musgrave slowed by injuries, Kraft took command of the Packers' tight end room in 2024. He led the team in receiving touchdowns with seven, and, as Journal Sentinal staffer Dominique Yates noted, Tucker brought a physical presence to the offense with his blocking ability and yards after catch (team-high 456 yards). Kraft is reasonably priced in early best-ball drafts, going at the tail end of the TE1 range in the 11th round with the 124th pick overall. |

Patriots | Efton Chism could push for roster spot Tue May 13, 01:02 AM
New England Patriots WR Efton Chism III could challenge for a spot on the team's 53-man roster, in the opinion of ESPN's Mike Reiss, who notes that the Patriots gave Chism, an undrafted free agent, a $25,000 signing bonus and guaranteed $234,000 of his base salary, which eclipsed the amount of guaranteed money that the team's seventh-round picks received. The rookie totaled 346 receptions in college and has drawn comparisons to current Seattle Seahawks WR Cooper Kupp, who preceded him at Eastern Washington.

Jaguars | Tank Bigsby on the bubble? Tue May 13, 12:41 AM
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Tank Bigsby is not 'guaranteed' a roster spot for the 2025 season, in the opinion of Jacksonville.com's Demetrius Harvey, who notes that Jacksonville has worked to reshape the offensive line and running back positions following the hiring of new head coach Liam Coen.
Footballguys view: In another effort to reshape the team's running backs room, the Jaguars took two backs in this year's draft. Bhayshul Tuten, drafted out of Virginia Tech, is the most likely to receive extensive playing time. According to Times-Union staffer Demetrius Harvey, head coach Liam Coen's scouting report indicates that Tuten could get some playing time as the team's change-of-pace back but can play all three downs if needed. Jacksonville is entering the year with top backs Travis Etienne and Bigsby on board. Still, given the extensive work the team has done to reshape the offensive line and their running backs room, Harvey contends neither player's roster spot should be guaranteed. We'll monitor this situation closely throughout training camp. |

Packers | GB still confident in Jayden Reed Tue May 13, 12:17 AM
Green Bay Packers WR Jayden Reed's agent met with general manager Brian Gutekunst after the team selected two receivers during the 2025 NFL Draft, and Gutekunst said Reed will continue to be a top receiver for the Packers, according to a source.
Footballguys view: Reed, 25, is entering his third season after the Packers made him a second-round pick in 2023. He led the team in receptions and receiving yards in each of his first two seasons, totaling 119 catches for 1,650 yards and 14 touchdowns in that time. But consistent weekly production wasn't a strong suit. It'll be interesting to see how the pecking order plays out for this receiving corps, with Christian Watson likely to miss the bulk of the season. Golden's first-round draft capital suggests a significant role, while Williams is more of a versatile weapon along the lines of Reed. |

Steelers | PIT optimistic about Calvin Austin III Tue May 13, 12:16 AM
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Calvin Austin is a player that the Steelers are high on at receiver, according to SI.com's Albert Breer.
Footballguys view: Breer advised readers that the Steelers think more highly of Austin than people realize and that he's a name to watch with George Pickens traded to Dallas. After emerging in 2024 with 36 receptions for 548 yards and four touchdowns, Austin appears ready to take on a larger role. But according to BVM Sports, Austin's strength lies in making big plays, often in the middle of the field, whereas Pickens was known for outside routes. Some question whether Austin is suited for heavy volume as a leading receiver. But Roman Wilson, Austin's primary competition for targets behind DK Metcalf, has limited experience with only five offensive snaps. We'll be watching for more on this situation in coming weeks. |

49ers | Gabe Davis set to visit Mon May 12, 05:08 PM
Free-agent WR Gabe Davis (Jaguars) is scheduled to meet with the San Francisco 49ers in the near future, according to a source.
Footballguys view: The Jaguars officially released Davis with a failed physical designation after he tore his meniscus in November, but he is expected to be ready to go for Week 1. As Profootballtalk.com notes, the 26-year-old Davis was a 2020 fourth-round pick of the Bills who played four seasons in Buffalo before signing in Jacksonville last season. He was a solid member of the Bills' receiving corps for four years but had his least productive season with the Jaguars. If he's healthy and in the right offense, he could be a solid contributor to some other team's passing game, and the 49ers may be that team. |

Cowboys | Dallas Doesn't Necessarily View George Pickens As A WR2 Mon May 12, 03:39 PM
During an interview with Adam Schein of Mad Dog Sports Radio, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said that the Cowboys think of newly-acquired WR George Pickens' as more than a two.'
Footballguys view: Jones elaborated on that point to Albert Breer of SI.com. "He's just a dynamic receiver," Jones said. "Everybody says we're looking for a two. I mean, George can be a one. He's got that type of talent. He's got unbelievable ball-tracking ability. He's got plenty of juice, and he's a fiery competitor. We love that he plays with an edge and think he'd be a good fit for our team." While they might see him as a WR1, fantasy investors should view Pickens as the complement to CeeDee Lamb, which this offense has been missing. |
Packers | Green Bay optimistic about Savion Williams Mon May 12, 03:25 PM
Green Bay Packers WR Savion Williams already seems to have created quite an impression on offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich, who told reporters on Monday, May 12, that there is 'a zillion different ways to use him in your offense.'
Footballguys view: Stenavich is going to be able to do quite a bit of things with Williams. They'll have to design touches for him, and they may be limited as things are crammed at the position in Green Bay. The Packers have 2025 first-round pick Matthew Golden, Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, and Christian Watson (after he returns from a torn ACL). |
Saints | Donovan Peoples-Jones lands in the Big Easy Mon May 12, 03:12 PM
Free-agent WR Donovan Peoples-Jones (Lions) reportedly agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the New Orleans Saints on Monday, May 12. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.
Footballguys view: Peoples-Jones did not play football last year. In 2023, he split time between the Browns and the Lions where he started six games (five for the Browns, one for the Lions). He will compete for a roster spot behind the Saints top three receivers Chris Olave, Brandin Cooks, and Rashid Shaheed. |

Browns | Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah will not play in 2025 Mon May 12, 03:00 PM
Cleveland Browns LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (neck) will be placed on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list on Monday, May 12, and will remain there throughout the completion of the 2025 season.
Footballguys view: A second-round pick out of Notre Dame in the 2021 draft, Owusu-Koramoah was named to his first Pro Bowl after recording a career-high 101 tackles in the 2023 season. The Browns signed him to a three-year extension worth up to $39 million last August. Last month, the Browns drafted former UCLA linebacker Carson Schwesinger with the 33rd pick. This offseason, Cleveland re-signed linebacker Devin Bush to a one-year deal and signed veteran linebacker Jerome Baker to a one-year contract. |

Broncos | Kyrese White inks deal with Denver Mon May 12, 02:24 PM
Undrafted free-agent WR Kyrese White (Utah State) signed an undisclosed contract with the Denver Broncos on Monday, May 12.
Footballguys view: White was impressive at Broncos rookie minicamp, and he's a quick receiver on underneath routes. Last year at Utah State, White had 44 receptions for 526 yards and three touchdowns. The Broncos receiver room is packed with talent, so White is likely bound for the practice squad if he continues to impress. |

Bengals | No movement on Trey Hendrickson extension Mon May 12, 01:19 PM
Cincinnati Bengals DE Trey Hendrickson told ESPN on Monday, May 12, that 'no communication has taken place between my camp and the organization post-draft.'
Footballguys view: Hendrickson, 30, is entering the final year of his contract and is coming off his best season in the NFL. He led the league with 17.5 sacks last season and was named to The AP All-Pro team. He's made the Pro Bowl in each of his four seasons with Cincinnati. In 2023, he was given a one-year extension on the four-year, $60 million deal he signed as a free agent in 2021. Last offseason, he requested a trade after the team opted not to give him a new deal. He ultimately reported for voluntary workouts. Hendrickson is set to earn $15.8 million in base salary this season. The Bengals will begin organized team activities later this month. Hendrickson isn't the only defensive end on the roster looking to resolve a contract issue. Shemar Stewart, the 17th pick in this year's draft, did not participate in last week's rookie minicamp because his contract remained unsigned. |

Falcons | James Pearce Jr. signs rookie deal Mon May 12, 10:17 AM
Atlanta Falcons first-round pick LB James Pearce Jr. signed his four-year, rookie contract Monday, May 12. Financial terms weren't disclosed, but it's fully guaranteed, and all first-round picks receive fifth-year options.
Footballguys view: Pearce knows how to get after the passer. He's quick off the line of scrimmage, and Pearce has great burst when the quarterback is in his sights. Pearce should bulk up a bit in a pro weight program, and that will help him against punches from stronger tackles. |
